The Konik or Polish Konik (Equus ferus caballus; Polish: konik polski; Polish Cyrillic: Коник / Коник полски) is a Polish breed of pony. There are semi-feral populations in some regions. They are usually mouse dun or striped dun in color.
The Konik was introduced in Historya Davvun, Weather Dragons, Two Lights, Worldcraft, Equation, and Rescris as a support character. One of the individuals of this species was Płotka (which is from the Witcher), which was used by Lena and Bartosz Andrysiak in Historya Davvun.
The name Konik comes from Polish: koń = "horse." The diminutive konik can essentially mean "little horse" or "small horse."
The Konik has a traditional mouse-grey (grullo) or blue dun coat. It has noticeable primitive markings, such as dark lower legs, a dark dorsal stripe running down the back, and sporadic faint zebra-like stripes on the knees and hocks. It has a deep chest, a short, muscular neck, a heavy head with a straight or slightly concave profile, and dark, incredibly hard hooves. In order to protect itself from freezing temperatures and strong winds, the Konik develops a remarkably thick, wooly winter coat that lightens in shade. This breed of horse is small, robust, and stocky, with a shoulder height of 130 to 140 cm (12.3 to 13.3 hands).
Koniks are especially prized for their resilience. They can graze and hunt for food over long distances. They can handle muddy ground, rough grassland, woodland edges, marshy areas, and uneven terrain thanks to their powerful hooves and robust bodies. They can grow thick winter coats and withstand comparatively harsh outdoor conditions. They are especially helpful for year-round conservation grazing in appropriate climates because of this horse. They can live on vegetation that might not be able to sustain larger, more heavily managed horses as readily due to their relatively low nutritional needs.
Each kick, groom, tilt of the ear, or other contact with another horse is a means of communicating. All breeds of horses are one of the few mammals immune to venom in snakes, along with the honey badger, pig, mongoose, and hedgehog, because immunity is only for adults. But, aside from young foals, adult horses do not typically die from the toxic venom from a snake bite.
Horses can and often do use their hooves to strike out against predators in the wild. Because it is instinctive, depending on the situation, even the most placid and obedient horses may display it. A fully matured horse can typically exceed 200 miles per hour. As a result, it can strike people and objects with an amazing 1,200 psi of power. Because the horse is most defensive of living perissodactyl.
Regrowth: When you dispose of horse manure, it's waste unless all of the following apply: it is used as soil fertiliser. it is used lawfully for spreading on clearly identified pieces of agricultural land and in grassland.
The Konik is particularly intriguing due to its growing use as a conservation grazer. Herds can be kept in expansive semi-natural settings instead of just in stables. Their main food sources are grasses, sedges, herbs, leaves, young shoots, and other vegetation. Grazing Koniks can prevent overly dense vegetation, preserve open grasslands, form habitat mosaics, affect plant diversity, produce short-grass patches, disturb vegetation by trampling, and provide nutrients through dung. As a result, insects, birds, and plants that rely on open or partially open habitats may benefit from their grazing.
Koniks' natural predators are highly dependent on their habitat because they are domestic horses. Gray wolves, brown bears, which may pose a threat to foals in areas where they coexist, and large cats, either historically or locally, are potential predators of free-ranging horses. Because they can kick hard, run quickly, and defend themselves in groups, healthy adult horses make challenging prey. Animals that are sick or elderly, as well as foals, are far more susceptible.
Like other domestic horses, Koniks procreate. The gestation period for mares is roughly eleven months. One foal is typically born, and while still reliant on milk, it can stand and walk shortly after birth, nurse from its mother, and start eating vegetation. Breeding can be carefully regulated in managed populations. While keeping an eye on population size, genetic diversity, health, and age structure, conservation herd managers may occasionally permit more natural social breeding.
Breeding Season: Late spring to summer.
Gestation: ~11–12 months.
Offspring: One foal per birth.
Foals are precocial—able to stand and follow within hours.
Herd harem structure: one dominant stallion, multiple mares, and offspring.
In general, Koniks are intelligent and gregarious horses. They naturally organize into social groups. Neighing, whinnying, snorting, squealing, body posture, ear position, facial expressions, and scent are some of the ways they communicate. Protection, social interaction, grooming, reproductive opportunities, and information about food and danger can all be found in a herd. Koniks may run away, group together, kick, bite, or become extremely vigilant when they feel threatened. It is important to distinguish between their serene grazing appearance and helplessness.

The primary populations of konik reside in Poland (e.g., Roztocze National Park and Popielno Research Station). Significant semi-feral populations have been introduced across wetland reserves in the Netherlands (Oostvaardersplassen), the United Kingdom, Germany, and Belgium. Koniks are exceptionally adaptable; thrives in temperate marshlands, river deltas, flooded meadows, open woodlands, and coastal dunes.
During The Recollections of Queen Arianna (TROQA) saga in the 2600s and 2700s, the "Sky People," or Terrans from Earth, brought the Przewalski's horse to two exoplanets that resembled Earth: Reinachos from Cygnus and Berbania from Ursa Major. Despite the death of our planet, conservation efforts are helping this species recover from endangerment or near extinction. The horse became an invasive species as a result of human interactions for game hunting and rewilding. In two exoplanets that resembled Earth, Przewalski's horse lived in conditions and climates identical to those of Earth.

Equids, unlike other animals and beings, do not require feeding. It's easy to tame because all you have to do is hop on its back. While it may buck you off a couple of times at first, if you stay persistent, you'll have the equid under control in no time. If you're lucky, you'll be able to tame it all at once.
The Wild Horse is one of the animals that was altered and used as a beast of burden by the First Civilization or the Isu in the Pleistocene. Despite being born naturally, the Isu have proclaimed all remaining purebred animal species to be genetically modified. Members of the Assassin Order, Templar Knights, and Monster Hunter members researched the origins of all animals and discovered that, because they are pure natural breeds, from animals and monsters are actually genetically engineered creatures.
After creating humans and elves, and changing all animal species, the Isu implanted artificial neurotransmitters in animals' brains. This method kills all purebred and natural animal species, even those that appear natural and unmanufactured. The Apples of Eden have mental dominion over all species, including humans, because they can control the brain via their interactions with neurotransmitters.
The First Civilization race, also known as the Isu race, a species of godlike hominid, which had been hunting ground sloths for sport from prehistoric times on both Earth and Everrealm, wiped them out before Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure series and the sequels related to Rapunzel. Before humans and elves existed, exotic animals from all over the world—such as elephants, mammoths, mastodons, monitor lizards, leopards, sabertooth cats, hippos, bears, ground sloths, toxodonts, terror birds, kangaroos, crocodiles, and other larger fauna like Elder Dragons—were confiscated and brought to what may have been West Asia or near the Garden of Eden (a prehistoric city called by Rapunzel while with her family in West Asia) for use in hunting games called venationes.
" Few realized what had really changed when the Sundrop Flower and the Moonstone Opal synchronized; the Earth itself had awakened for freedom, order, and balance, not tyranny. Protect life. Preserve them, preserve the world! "
– 50 Solar and Lunar Pentecost immortals
Following the victory at the presidential compound, President Nelson Mandela personally escorts Queen Arianna de Solle to the Roman Catholic Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Pretoria Central. Recognizing the deep spiritual foundation of Arianna’s Catholic faith—which complements Mandela’s own Methodist principles—Mandela provides a secure sanctuary for her solemn prayer. Inside the quiet, stained-glass nave of the cathedral, Arianna kneels at the altar. Her prayer transcends ordinary devotion, becoming a deeply spiritual communion that reinforces her commitment to global reconciliation, moral justice, and human cooperation.
Coinciding with Taiwan's traditional holiday, the Earth God's Birthday (Tudi Gong), Arianna’s prayer triggers a universal bio-resonance network. Through the combined supreme power of the Sundrop Flower and Moonstone Opal, Arianna establishes a mind-link with legendary immortals across time and space: from her sister, her husband, her closest friends, and even an Isu named Tellervo and an Eternal named Druig, carefully stabilizes the immense psychic network, ensuring the connection does not overwhelm the minds of living beings.
The Immortals send a single message across the world: "Protect life." The response comes not in words, but in countless living voices. Across the globe, an extraordinary phenomenon unfolds. Every mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, lancelets, jellyfish, sea anemones, hydrozoans, nematodes, annelids, echinoderms, hemichordates, gastropods, bivalves, cephalopods, arthropods, constructs, undead creatures, and naturalized extraterrestrials on the Earth were fully prepare under Queen Arianna's orders.
Animals begin behaving with remarkable coordination. They avoid harming ordinary people and instead gather around forests, rivers, cities, mountains, ruins, caves, oceans, and protected lands threatened by Abstergo's operations. Hidden laboratories are discovered after birds, mammals, and other wildlife draw nearby communities toward suspicious activity. None of the reports can fully explain the phenomenon. As Nelson Mandela’s team observes from secure command centers, Abstergo Sigma operatives and corporate mercenaries are systematically hunted down by coordinated wildlife, feral animals, or pets.

🐴 "Konik" literally refers to a little horse.
🇵🇱 The breed became particularly famous outside Poland because of its use in conservation grazing.
🌾 Koniks can help prevent grasslands from becoming completely covered by shrubs and trees.
🐎 Their primitive-looking dorsal stripe is one reason people sometimes mistake them for descendants of the Tarpan.
🧬 They are genetically domestic horses, despite their wild-looking appearance.
❄️ A winter Konik can look dramatically shaggier than one in summer.
🌊 Like other horses, they can swim.
🦋 Their grazing can indirectly create habitat for insects and grassland birds.
🐴 Koniks are generally smaller than many modern riding-horse breeds.
🌍 They have become part of Europe's broader rewilding and ecological-grazing movement.
