Lush Espinas

Fittingly, 'Espinas' is Spanish for 'Thorns'.

The Espinas is a saurischian wyvern with green skin and magenta spikes that poison like roses. They have venomous thorns and layered armor keratin on their thick skin. The Espinas' design now matches Monster Hunter Rise in both appearance and style because their color palette was suitable for their mainstream game. The Espinas' design now looks and feels like Monster Hunter Rise because their color palette was suitable for their popular game.

The Espinas will vigorously pursue nearby hunters while remaining passive, however they will only inflict minor harm on them. The Espinas can shoot poisonous fireballs that, upon hit, cause both paralysis and poisoning. Additionally, because of the thorns, the majority of its physical attacks result in poison state. Additionally, Espinas may ram with its horn while charging at a high speed.

During the near-death experience mode, the Espinas roars louder than ever and its unique homing charge attack is especially powerful for this reason. In addition, it is more capable of combining its attacks - for example, shooting out five fireballs, then flying backwards whilst shooting the final toxic blast.

Due to the spines that adorn it's body it is shown that it is at the top of the food chain in the Rain Forests to taiga. Common prey include Bullfango, Mosswine, and Aptonoth. Espinas have to compete with Rathian, Abiorugu, Mi Ru, Nargacuga and Zinogre for food and territory, though Espinas have even been known to fight and beat Elder Dragons like Kushala Daora or Chameleos in battles over territory, further showing their impressive strength.

Espinas get the title, Thorn Wyvern, due to the many thorns found throughout their body. The thorns are very tough, sharp, and ooze poison when Espinas is angered. The miasma, from the thorns, is enough to stop someone from touching the thorns. The hardness of its shell is abnormal to a point where most attacks are repelled, though some scars can still be seen. It isn't easy to damage this shell without Espinas being angry. If greatly damaged while the threat is attacking or if the threat is truly a danger, Espinas will become aggressive as a last resort. Blood veins will be seen on its body, making its armor softer but also allowing it to move faster.

By making its armor softer, it makes it so the armor doesn't inhibit its movements. This means that Espinas gives up defense for a good offense. While enraged, Espinas are able to breath poisonous fireballs at their enemies. These fireballs not only burn prey but, also poisons them. These poisons not only slowly kill prey but also can even paralysis prey. Even if a creature survives a blast from the fireball, the poisons will eventually spread throughout the body.

Extroverted, incredibly lethargic, and nonsensical, this animal mistrusts its adversaries by being indolent until they sustain enough damage before becoming furious. became so vicious and untamed that it attacked the enemy and fired compound fireballs that were poisonous and paralyzing. An exceptionally quiet flying wyvern is the Lush Espinas. It is nearly always encountered napping in the wild. It reacts indifferently to any attacks even when startled and awakened, ambling back and forth while depending on its thick hide for defense. However, the Lush Espinas will get furious if it sustains enough harm. When this happens, it becomes considerably faster and more vicious, launching poisonous fireballs, bashing aggressors with its horn, and charging them down.

Through the Collider Gate in Central Asia, the Espinas and its subspecies Flaming Espinas were invasive in prehistoric times in the tropical, subtropical, Mediterranean, and temperate ruins and woods of Afro-Eurasia, as well as in the woodland and ghost town regions. Norman Osborn categorized them as invasive species in the Monster Hunter series.
