The Mental-fry (Xenognathus mentalpisces) is the fictional species of last living conodont in the world, introduced in Rewritten: Exodus.

A levitating fish species that resembles Mental-fry, Cosmic-fry is another species that has survived mass extinctions. A small mouth and thorny throats resembling leatherback turtles, a pale lavender underside, a fading backward fish spine in the center of the body, and magenta-colored skin are some of the differences in their color schemes and palettes. Due to its fragility, the fins on its tail were transparent.
On the underside, they had helium sacs that resembled bags, but they glow similarly to their relatives. However, it houses psychic powers and can glow at midnight or in a cloud forest's dark forest. Their gills are smaller than those of their conodont ancestors. They had special eye textures, like the compound eyes of insects, with patterns for detecting infrared light and the capacity to control body temperature. Their eyes resembled small fish or fry.
Whether acting alone or in groups, the Mental-fry directs a psychic and magical beam from a particular elemental sac on its throat to its mouth at the enemy. This beam ranges in color from pink to magenta. It is similar to Pokemon's Extrasensory in that it has a 35% chance of making the target wince if it is directed at a single person and a 13% chance of making the enemy wince and become confused.
Even if they manage to stay unscathed throughout a battle, they will undoubtedly become exhausted, especially when using their lower power-cost shoal of Mental-fry. It uses the Great Agility, a centerpiece move of this kind, in contrast to Cosmic-fry, another species of conodont that frequently appears to vanish and then return in different places while dashing and swimming of the sky out of outer space.
It was thought that the only member of the same species who possessed any of these PCPs—an acronym for Power Cost Points—was five, with the exception of Great Agility, which was thought to be higher and frequently used for evading capture. After using psychic or arcane magic attacks, it will be difficult to use a particular move repeatedly.

It is believed that mental fry is elusive and uncapturable. Some native people in Everrealm and Norberg Kingdom believe that the Mental-fry is a very bad omen for this species after being killed and acts as a sign of vengeance until the entire body is burned to break the curse.
The only conodont and the true animal other than tardigrade, survived in outer space but was limited to living in the exosphere and living on Earth. In Everrealm, a magical world that resembles planet Earth but is less like a supercontinent with several of them, kingdoms and few republics, and no totalitarian or communist states are only planet via Traveling Drift Portal, another type of drift portal for time and space, it forms shoal while floating and levitating with several members and is typically found near water or in cloud forest.
