Simurgh (Caninornis persica; Persian: سیمرغ, sīmurğ/simorgh) is the one of the mythical creatures and guardians introduced in Worldcraft: Scorched Earth and Weather Dragons: Steal Scene of Gaugamela War.

Etymology

The Persian word sīmurğ (سیمرغ) derives from Middle Persian 𐭮𐭩𐭭𐭬𐭥𐭫𐭥 sēnmurw (and earlier sēnmuruγ), also attested in Pazend texts as sīna-mrū. The Middle Persian word comes from Avestan 𐬨𐬆𐬭𐬆𐬖𐬋⸱𐬯𐬀𐬉𐬥𐬋 mərəγō Saēnō "the bird Saēna", originally a raptor, likely an eagle, falcon, or sparrowhawk, as can be deduced from the etymological cognate Sanskrit śyenaḥ (श्येनः) "raptor, eagle, bird of prey", which also appears as a divine figure. On the other hand, the phrase sī murğ (سی مرغ) means "thirty birds" in Persian.

Physical Appearance

Simurgh is a large dog headed bird that are descendants of nightjars and only nightjar that have a density of colorful feathers and peacock eye tails, blue to yellowish between the sides, salmon colored neck, dark colored tipped feathers, yellow scaly legs, and dog eared like nightjar. Their beak was the same as a nightjar, giving the appearance of a canine like. Their feathers are more colorful than brown nightjar.

This tail was long and had eye tails on each tail feathers to intimidate predators and ward off evil spirits.

Abilities

The ability of Simurgh was called Thirsty Bird, despite the name. Simurgh stores the water on its feathers on its neck like sandgrouse and turns it into ice. This animal is able to emit a chilling wind from its body, which dulls its prey's ability to escape. It flies with extreme precision and agility. Simurgh breathed lightly ice clouds on its mouth and legs to catch the prey.

During the near-death experience mode, when in desperate situations they use a set of organs to produce the dreaded fire and air, adding an extra layer of danger to their attacks to burning and chilling enemies by a curse. Strangely, Simurgh mimicked the voice of any canines to commands to attack the enemy by a single target.
