Libanoculex intermedius
“ Lebanese amber is, to date, the oldest amber with intensive biological inclusions, and it is a very important material as its formation is contemporaneous with the appearance and beginning of radiation of flowering plants, with all what follows of co-evolution between pollinators and flowering plants. ”

Libanoculex is the extinct genus of phantom midge in the family Chaoboridae, it was first discovered in Lebanon during Late Cretaceous, around 125 million years ago. It has a single species is Libanoculex intermedius.
The generic name is a combination of the Latin Libanus, meaning “Lebanon,” and the generic name Culex (Latin, meaning “gnat” or “mosquito”). Gender of the name is masculine. The specific epithet is the Latin adjective intermedius, meaning “intermediate” or “between,” and refers to the early diverging position of the fossil relative to other Culicidae and its unique combination of culicid apomorphies and symplesiomorphies with Chaoboridae.
It previously as the oldest known mosquito, Libanoculex, was first found in Lebanese amber in Lebanon. Since in 2024, this species was reclassified as carnivorous phantom midge instead of mosquito, since it is related to real mosquitoes and midges. It had large compound eyes, antennae peculiar to a particular gender, two long, constricted wings, three pairs of long legs with tiny claws, a piercing jaw that could feed on both nectar and blood, and a long tail.

Hypothetically theory of ancient animal's behavior.
This extinct species of phantom midge had a same behavior as extant mosquitoes, gnats, and midges.
About 125 million years ago, during the Late Cretaceous period, Libanoculex intermedius was discovered in Lebanon and possibly other Levantine countries. Its prior habitats were comparable to those of current mosquito species, which include damp places and close proximity to water sources in marshes and swamps.

Don't feed animal in either feral or wildlife in real-life, you not safe.
The mosquitoes are not tamable because there are too tiny and stupid!
This animal was created by Project Pashneia, a scientific initiative by the Terran branch of Deities to create any animals, monsters, or humans in terms of their own.
Prior to being identified as a new extinct species of insect in Lebanon in 2023, Libanoculex was the first mosquito in the world to be recorded in fossil records. However, in 2024, it was discovered to be a phantom midge and it reclassified by three paleontologists.
