Figinjanvan (Falcatakely forsterae) is an extinct genus and species of enantiornithine bird known from partial fossils from northern Madagascar.

Etymology

Ffrom the Latin falcatus and Malagasy kely, in reference to the shape of the beak

Physical Appearance

Falcatakely is a crow-sized stem-bird that can be distinguished from all other enantiornithines by its deep, long rostrum, which is slightly reminiscent of that of a toucan. Falcatakely is probably a crow or a toucan-like dinosaur alongside this same group.

Abilities

Falcatakely lacks any element magic. Like real toucans, Falcatakely are among the noisiest dinosaurs. When they sing, they sound like frogs and ravens are mixing of cawing and croaking.

Ecology

When the bird was alive, Falcatakely shared its relatively dry habitat with herbivorous, pig-like crocodiles, carnivorous, stubby-armed dinosaurs and badger-sized mammals. Falcatakely fits that oddball menagerie, the weirdness of which was probably spurred by Madagascar’s isolation after the island split off from India 88 million years ago.

Behavior

Falcatakely is a passive creature. Flies away when attacked. Like modern-day toucans, Falcatakely are friendly dinosaurs that do not harm humans. Falcatakely aren't particularly destructive, and cleaning up their feces is simple.

Distribution and Habitat

Falcatakely is known from the Maevarano Formation (present-day Mahajanga Province, northwestern Madagascar), then a swampy floodplain which seasonally alternated between being swampland.

Tamed

Falcatakely can be tamed non-violently. Feeding with berries.
