Queen Arianna de Corona (year 1774–2100 AD) is the former Queen of Corona, the birth mother of Princess Rapunzel, and a secondary character in the Disney Channel animated series Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure.

She was the overarching main protagonist in Historya Davvun, Thalath Lakoduna, No Way to Seaway, and Weather Dragons, which are set in the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s, respectively. The locations are Seattle, Paris, Oklahoma, Klaipeda, the Western Interior Seaway, Hell Creek Formation, Mesopotamia, Budapest, Hanyang, and even Sawintir. She is the only character to appear in every series of Past and Present Incidents.

Etymology

Queen Arianna's given name was from executive producer, Chris Sonnenburg's, daughter, Arianna. Arianna is a girl's name of Italian and Greek origins, meaning "most holy." The angelic name isn't short of siblings, with sisters Ariana, Aryana, Arianne, and Ariane sharing the heavenly spotlight, which is connected to the light.

Physical Appearance

Arianna bears a striking resemblance to her daughter; near identical, bright green eyes, with similar facial features. She, along with Frederic, also share Rapunzel's brown hair (after it was cut). Arianna's hair almost reaches her waist. It is parted in the same way as Rapunzel's is, and the upper layer is tied back neatly in a sort of up-do.

Queen Arianna wears a traditional Corona dress. The dress is lavender in color and reaches all the way down to her feet. Arianna also wears pearl earrings, a pearl necklace, and often, when in official ceremonies, her crown. Arianna has long, silky brown hair that extends past her shoulders. She is quite slender and is remarkably similar to her daughter in appearance. She also shares many physical features with her younger sister.

Arianna's newest design and her dress were a mix of French, German, Belgian, Austrian, Spanish, Breton, Italian, and Euskara dresses of Corona Kingdom citizens. Arianna's hair was changed to curly in favor of the contemporary era rather than the events of the Tangled series and Assassin's Creed Unity. The dress is lavender in color and reaches all the way down to her feet. Arianna also wears pearl earrings, a pearl necklace, and often, when in official ceremonies, her crown.

Abilities

Princess Arianna was born a fighter with her sister Willow for self-defense with her parents in Bordeaux; she was skilled with marksmanship, swordsmanship, and even climbing that copied the ideologies of the Assassins and the Templars. Arianna demonstrated her skill as a hand-to-hand fighter by participating in several brawls in the neighborhood's halls and taverns, where she was able to defeat several opponents and take advantage of the surroundings.

Arianna was trained in swordsmanship and forgot to use her bow and arrow, and she was taught how to wield firearms. His skill with a sword was initially average but drastically improved after receiving tutelage in swordsmanship from various Conservationist Hunters/Hidden Saviours in the 1700s.

Abilities

Cross of Bethlehem

Queen Arianna's current weapon is a Charge Blade, and it was given by buried after Muslim conquest of the Levant for her weapon known as the Cross of Bethlehem or Eagle-Blade (להב נשר של בית לחם; "Lahav Našer Šel Bēṯ-Leḥem"), a legendary weapon of Ereshkigal and later King David of Israel imbued with the power to emit blinding flashes of various elements when it struck an enemy. The weapon was created using knowledge from Deity's Civilization of the Pleistocene. The weapon was based on Dante's Devil Sword from Dante in Monster Hunter World, but with a deity-engraved style.

Personality

Arianna is shown to love her daughter and her husband dearly: when Rapunzel is born, she smiles adoringly, cuddling and picking her up. She then silently comforts her husband on the day of the lantern festival, gently touching his face when he cries. These scenes show that she is caring, supportive, and kindly. She is also shown to be very accepting, immediately welcoming Eugene into the royal family upon realizing he was partially responsible for her daughter's return. She was the true mother of Princess Rapunzel, and Arianna was descended from Lancelot and Guinevere; she was the only Disney figure to heavily and predominantly roleplay in the Earth Responsibly universe; and she was an improved and revamped version of herself with beauty and regality. Arianna's religion was Roman Catholic since born and now, and had an interest in various religions.

Arianna's personality is slightly expanded in Tangled: Before Ever After, where her loving and supportive nature is emphasized by her way of raising Rapunzel — especially compared to her husband. Unlike the paranoid Frederic who fears for Rapunzel's safety nearly every waking moment, Arianna simply relishes in having a complete family once more. She also sympathizes with Rapunzel's longing to learn more about the world, and herself, and encourages her to do just that. Gentle and soft-spoken, Arianna quickly established herself as someone Rapunzel can confide in during times of uncertainty.

During the occupation of the Corona Kingdom by France, Arianna became heartbroken and cried over Élise and Frederic's deaths. She sank into alcoholism and depression, massacred Templars and Assassins using her Aesir-made Dual Blades once more, and ultimately resolved to leave France, Spain, Andorra, Monaco, and the rest of the world altogether. Arianna gave motherly wisdom about how Rapunzel should best portray herself in her royal portrait, explaining that people aren't defined by what they can do but by who they are and the people they love, in response to her descendants: Nilan, Guaiya, Pingking, Francisco, Maleek, Gaspar, Gorca, Ronaldo, Paolo, Thomas, Joszef, Dorottya, Heloise, Antinanco, Ernest, and others.

In the Earth Responsibly universe, she was the ancestress of the Punzalan-Pradep-Peng-Padilla-Solietoile-Miles family, Badawi-Bautista of Iraq, the Galicinao-Kealani-Jorpassadal family of Hawaii, the Horvath-Szekely-Vancura-Juhasz family of Hungary and Germany, Gestirin of Luxembourg, the Miles family, as well as the Solcorvauld and Morrison families from the Eosia Kingdom or New Corona Kingdom. Queen Arianna was the cousin-once-removed of the Bonaparte, Grimhilde, Anjou, Braganza, and Bourbon families.

She was the descendant of Lancelot and Guinevere, due to being a descendant of any conservationist hunter. Due to her demigod pedigree, Queen Arianna was immune to the obedience of the Apples of Eden or hypnotized by some psychic abilities, like the Assassins, some Templars, and descendants of Lancelot and Guinevere. Even her offspring get the same protection and abilities, such as activating the sundrop magic or healing magic.

Background

King Leonidas I of Sparta led the Spartans into battle against the Persians during King Xerxes I of Persia's invasion of Greece, brandishing an Aesir spear and wielding Sundrop powers. The spearhead was retrieved and given to his daughter Myrrine, who then gave it to her daughter Kassandra, even though the spear shaft was broken during his final stand at the Battle of Thermopylae in 480 BCE.

The first ruler of Corona during 1600s, Robin XI or Robin Leopold de Sonne had changed the location and whereabouts of Corona is in English Channel was an island resembles Mont Saint-Michel, and had ultimately built Corona Castle. After that, Robin had given birth to Herz Der Sonne, in which the latter gave birth to King Frederic. While Queen Arianna's ancestral line was linked to the House of Bonaparte, the House of Bourbon, and other relatives, there are directly descendants of Lancelot and Guinevere, and Guinevere's descendants have reigned at different times in the kingdoms of Spain, Andorra, France, Monaco, Switzerland, Poland, Aragon, Portugal, Navarre, and as emperors/empresses of the Brazilian and Latin American empires.

Arianna contracted an unknown strong illness while heavily pregnant with Rapunzel, and she was going to die, along with her child, from the illness if there was no cure. The guards found the magical golden flower that, through a medicinal method by boiling it in water, fully healed her, which also successfully helped with the birth of Rapunzel. Mother Gothel snuck into the castle not long afterward to kidnap Rapunzel, who held the healing powers of the flower she believed were rightfully hers.

Rapunzel was born of King Frederic and Queen Arianna, being by birth the princess of Corona and the heir to the throne. When her mother was expecting her she fell ill, so she drank the legendary golden flower to recover. As a result, Rapunzel acquired magical abilities through her long golden hair prior to Rapunzel was captured by Mother Gothel.

As a loving mother, Arianna along with the King was devastated to have her baby taken away to the point where the anniversary of Rapunzel's disappearance drove her to tears even eighteen years later. She and the King continued to hold the lantern festival every year on Rapunzel's birthday to call their daughter home and were just as emotionally shaken as the day she disappeared. Arianna did not return to the scene until a guard came to report Rapunzel's return. Although she was not able to immediately recognize and embrace Rapunzel as her long-lost daughter upon first sight, Arianna's maternal instinct and striking resemblance to Rapunzel brought the family together immediately. As she, her husband, and Rapunzel sank to the ground in a powerful embrace, Arianna silently extended her hand to Eugene in speechless gratitude. As he took it, she pulled him in to join them. She was last seen smiling and hugging Rapunzel and Frederic towards the end of the movie.

Arianna has a brief appearance in Tangled Ever After. In Maximus' dream sequence after he loses the rings, Arianna exclaims from the audience that the rings were her grandmother's. She also appears at the end, alongside Frederic, giving Maximus and Pascal a surprised look that they were both dirty and messy, and also smiling happily as her daughter is married.

Arianna tells Rapunzel that, at a young age, she was very much like her daughter in that she felt lost in the world and longed to find her calling. During this time, she lived her life as an adventurer, exploring remote continents, besting violent storms and helping local villagers restore their worn homes. At some point, she would meet Frederic, marry him, and assume the role of queen.

Arianna makes multiple appearances in the TV series, though she usually plays fairly minor roles. When focused upon, however, it is shown that Arianna is just as elated as her husband to have Rapunzel in her life again, but not in a manner that has made her overprotective. Instead, she supports her daughter in all endeavors and looks to make up for the eighteen years worth of lost time by spending time with Rapunzel whenever she can. She trusts that her daughter can make her own choices and believes in her ability to accomplish her goals.

Later, Varian distracts the guards by sending out a transformed Rudiger to attack the castle. Amidst the confusion, he sneaks into the room where the queen is hiding and kidnaps Arianna. Later at his lair, he reveals that she is bait to lure Rapunzel to his location. Arianna tries to pleading with Varian because she knows he is acting more out of pain from losing his father than anything else, despite claims to the contrary. But, since his mind is consumed by vengeance, he ignores her pleas. When the King and Rapunzel come, Varian reveals to them the queen, alive and unscathed. Varian had planned to force Rapunzel to help free his dad by using Arianna as the bargaining chip. Arianna is eventually freed when Rudiger helps release King Frederic, who thereby throws a sword to the chained up Arianna. Just before the crystal amber is about to encase Arianna, she uses the sword to break her restraints and escape to her family.

Arianna is again put in danger when she tries to reason with Varian after he busts out his giant automaton robot suit. Varian, with her pleas again falling on deaf ears, grabs the queen and Cassandra and starts crushing them. However, Rapunzel comes to the rescue and uses her new powers with the black rocks to trip the robot, which falls backward, releasing her and Cassandra.

After charging into the castle, the citizens of Corona build a portal that was once used by Lord Demanitus to banish Zhan Tiri to the Lost Realm in the throne room; however, after the portal is assembled, Arianna is among the citizens of Corona who are accidentally sucked in through the portal to the realm, where she transforms into a rabbit. She and the others remain stuck until they are rescued by Quirin. Seconds later, the portal is crushed by debris from Zhan Tiri transforming into the Isu Devil or Muspel Demon, prompting Arianna to order everyone to evacuate the throne room. Arianna and Frederic then join the battle against Zhan Tiri, proclaiming that it's their fight as well, but Zhan Tiri encages Arianna, Frederic, and the others in Yellow Rocks and then chants the Decay Incantation to weaken everyone and plunge the kingdom into darkness, even Charles Dorian, Arno Dorian, Shay Cormac, Connor Kenway, François de la Serre, and Elise de la Serre (were killed). Following Zhan Tiri's defeat at the hands of Rapunzel and a redeemed Cassandra, Rapunzel chants the Healing Incantation to revive everyone, including her parents and herself, and even Charles Dorian, Arno Dorian, Shay Cormac, Connor Kenway, François de la Serre, and Elise de la Serre from death.

At the end of the series, Arianna is seen celebrating the true happily ever after alongside Frederic, Rapunzel, and Eugene.

France’s costly involvement in the American Revolutionary War and extravagant spending by King Louis XVI, his wife Marie Antoinette, and their predecessor had left the country on the brink of bankruptcy. Not only were the royal coffers depleted, but two decades of poor cereal harvests, drought, cattle disease, and skyrocketing bread prices had kindled unrest among peasants and the urban poor. Many expressed their desperation and resentment toward a regime that imposed heavy taxes yet failed to provide relief by rioting, looting, and striking over Corona citizens, which were occupied under Louis XVI's regime.

Because of François-Thomas Germain seized whole Corona Kingdom as Province of France, Queen Arianna was now widowed after her family (except for Eugene and Rapunzel) and husband, King Frederic, were murdered by the Order of Assassins and the Templar Order, who were the mortal enemies of the Conservationist Hunters/Hidden Saviours (1600-1800). When King Frederic of Corona was killed, Johannes Bortja, the executioner and a descendent of Cain, ancestor of Juhani Otso Berg, the last Borgia member, the first killer in history, killed him. Queen Arianna discovers that Shaun Hastings discovered this murderer in the Templar Archives by Lucy Stillman.

She became depressed, cried, and grieved, and she achieved and acquired magical abilities through her long golden hair and yellow bioluminescent markings on her skin. She resolved to investigate the reason behind the murder and join the Conservationist Hunters and her cousin Napoleon Bonaparte. With Robert de Léon's help, Queen Arianna retrieves the Piece of Eden and a Cross-Claymore of Bethlehem before Napoleon and Arno Dorian's traitorous captain can, and sends it to the Egyptian and Ottoman Hidden Saviors for safekeeping and leave for Toledo, Spain for too long.

Assuming the role of the Black Cross of Abstergo and Juno's Worship against Queen Arianna and her descendants, Nilan Punzalan, Maleek Bautista, Ronaldo Kealani, and Heloise Szekely, Johannes Bortja and Juhani Otso Berg killed historical figures in the past because they believed the position had become necessary once again for the New World Order.
