Damaso Peynirci Shifa (Ottoman Turkish: دامسوَ پيينيرجي شيفآ) is the fictional character introduced in Worldcraft: Scorched Earth.

Physical Appearance

Damaso Shifa is a 37-year-old Turkish people's partially Arab, Navajo, Domari, Mongolian, and Greek. Damaso is of partially Asian descent, without any trace of Spanish, French, or Ilocano descent, being a Turkish people. Turkish are Asians of partial Caucasian descent, making Eurasian people in Turkiye. He wears contemporary-era clothes except for cloth patterns from the Byzantine Empire and his blackish gray pants made of Angora goat, an animal found in Turkiye. His black boots have a retrofuturistic touch and are semi-durable. His holed gloves, made by elves and goblins, survived cutting and burning. 


Damaso wore his necklace and ring of Ennead origin, made of mythril and orichalcum by Hephaestus a long time ago for the Byzantine royal family at the House of Osman. The two sapphire-like gems are made of Safi'jiiva's gemstone, which enhances his own sand powers.

Abilities

Unlike Flint Marko, his mentor has a weakness for water. Damaso is a natural-born magical user of controlling sand and later earth elements.


Damaso can sense how to connect the earth by using his heart and mind to make a radar map, unlike anything he has seen before. Damaso glows his eyes orange when active Ennead makes accessories, turns certain surfaces to quicksand to immobilize an enemy, or creates a soft landing for themselves should they fall from a height.


Damaso can manipulate the fine sand particulates to form a whirling column or turn into a sandstorm larger than Archie's when his form is Zaphnath-Paaneah.


Damaso is closed combat because he uses his hands and feet to form Irish Street Fighter and Silat. Both Flint and Damaso manipulate to make the better tandem, "Kum Devi,"  the Turkish word for "Sand Giant." Both possess the superhuman ability to convert his body into sand by mental command, forming Sand Kaiju like in Spider-Man 3.


During the war for Pascua Delos Desierto, causing the loss of his foster parents, he achieved the powers of Safi'jiiva's unknown fire-like element from felynes through the Rite of Conscience. He enables the transfer of Safi'jiiva's genes from one survivor or creature to another, awakening a new power in the recipient survivor. He had greater mastery over bioenergy and refined its control over its flame-like energy, in addition to being able to produce it naturally. It can wield explosive blasts, focused lasers that saturate the ground with explosive energy, sweeping beams that can cover a wide area, and concentrated shots that lead the target's movement in exchange for his earthly powers.

Damaso is an unfriend whose greatest fear is inadequacy, as they both mention having had difficulty in their relationships with their respective fathers.


During his childhood until revealed in the Scorched Earth event, he was the most unpopular kid in school and was constantly picked on and bullied by his more athletic and popular peers. He didn't belong to Turkish culture, and he didn't accept his challenge, with the principal urging his adopted mom to eat him alive to Jhen Mohran.


He challenged his half-brother for taking his throne during the Scorched Earth event. Damaso was a descendant of the sultan of the Ottoman Empire and the Byzantine Empire because of his bloodline in a futuristic world. Damaso is noble, brave, and kind-hearted, and in the end, he courageously accepts the responsibilities of being the next Sultan of his former kingdom, the soon-to-be Republic of Maghrebia, for his best friend Archie Buenaventura, a long-lost former governor general and natural-born prince of Cornwall.
