Crimson Glow Valstrax
“ A mutant Valstrax fearsomely dubbed the "Crimson Glow". This elder dragon typically secludes itself in the upper atmosphere, but it has been driven mad by its own rampant energy, causing to lash out at anything in its sight. Once it sights its prey, it swoops down, trampling them beneath its shifting wingblades. Several have been sighted all over, so be prepared to encounter one at any time. ”

The Crimson Glow Valstrax (Argentofalcodraco stratorex), Star of Despair, is the one of the Elder Dragon introduced in Monster Hunter Rise.
Etymology
Valstrax's English name was compound words valor and strikes.
Physical Appearance
On the sides and wingarms of Crimson Glow Valstrax, there are permanent glowing red streaks that connect the chest to the wings due to the excess dragon energy coursing through its body. Like the wings of a typical furious Valstrax, the wings are covered in a burning red color and have a distinctive shape, resembling exhaust vents. The wings will turn blazing red and begin to spew dragon energy when air is inhaled. Its torso glows red when it is angry, and a lot of dragon energy emerges from the vents in its shoulders and chest. When it is angry, Chaos energy begins to shoot out of the nostrils on the back of its head as exhaust.
Its head has a small crest, and its eyes have red irises and blue sclera. Its chest has three horizontal gaps that are used to take in and pressurize air like a jet engine. Its snorkel-like nostrils are positioned behind its head so it can breathe efficiently, even while flying fast. The rivalry of their convergent evolution of these two animals resembles that of Valstrax: Gaasyendietha of the Iroquois Confederacy and Valorstarx of Berbania.
Abilities
Valstrax is able to fire dragon beams from the tips of its wings or mouth, depending on their combat. Like birds, vultures have air sacs and gills on their chests. This elder dragon breathes in air through its mouth, nostrils, and chest vents before releasing it out of its wings in the form of chaos energy. In this form, the wings are able to swipe like a massive claw and slam down into the ground as if it’s a giant palm, and Valstrax can ignite the tips of its wings to add Chaosblight to these attacks as well as deal additional damage.
Valstrax flies at high speed by discharging mysterious red-black energy from its wings. It can manipulate the alignment and shape of its wings to vary the attacks it uses. When its wings are in their usual backward-facing position, Valstrax will commonly lunge forward and swipe at hunters with its front claws or try to take a bite at them. It can also jam the trident-tipped appendages into the ground and rip up some dirt along with the hunter. Much like falcons, this animal has excellent eyesight that allows it to pinpoint its prey from the sky while in the troposphere or stratosphere.
Valstrax performs a rocket-like maneuver to become a meteor form in the sky as soon as possible before hopping up with a small blast and then rocketing off into the horizon. Here it will become enveloped with crimson dragon energy, becoming the red comet once more and causing massive damage to all life at cost, while Valstrax was unharmed. Valstrax is capable of firing a large draconic beam from its mouth in near-death experience mode.
This causes the Crimson Glow Valstrax to become more active and less reclusive compared to its normal counterpart. It also has a tendency to ambush hunters and monsters alike during hunts without warning, akin to the various invader monsters like Deviljho or Bazelgeuse, with the Ambush prompt being the only warning that a Crimson Glow Valstrax is in the area and is poised to attack. Crimson Glow Valstrax is capable of firing a large draconic beam akin to that of Nakarkos.
Weaknesses
If enough damage is dealt on the chest during this period, its chest will explode with dragon energy, dealing huge damage to Valstrax, toppling it, and making it unconscious.
Weather Phenomenon
Meteor: Valstrax hops and ejects their chaos element on its wings to perform a meteor or comet.
Ecology
It is said that Valstrax appears once every few hundred or thousand years, heralded by a series of comet sightings. Many reports claim by tribes in mountainous areas like Tibet, Peru, or Puncak Jaya that it portends a black future where the heavens and earth shall crumble into nothing. But it was always mistaken for a red comet by eyewitnesses in the Iroquois Confederacy.
Since no actual records of Valstrax existed, it was considered an extinct species by the conservationists and queen until they started exploring the skies with the airships on Earth, Avalon, and their home, the world of Monster Hunter or Jaddo. While many see Valstrax as an evil omen, an ancient civilization that once lived at this highest pinnacle saw it as a deity or god. Valstrax are said to be predators, but it's unknown what kind of species they commonly prey on thus far. However, they eat various terrestrial or aquatic animals on the surface before taking them to their nest. Similarly, when it blows out hot air to fly fast, we took inspiration from NASA rocket shuttles before 1945, after Hitler’s death. There were no predators of this species until the current investigation.
Valstrax's origins were located at high altitudes, like mountains such as Mount Everest or other mountains. It was very interesting to see people's efforts to make it more destructive and destroy the entire scale. And humans should swear revenge against the ancient species. Many people were extinct during World War Two until the next event in Weather Dragons of Bagani. Much like fish and birds, this chest has holes to mistake the real gills for. Its chest has three horizontal gaps that are gills used to take in and pressurize air like a jet engine.
Behavior
Valstrax was relatively calm and neutral until threatened. It is far more aggressive than its normal variant, and it is known to attack anything in sight. This is due to the fact that its dragon energy has gone rampant, altering its behavior in response to the constant pain caused by the energy.
Distribution and Habitat
This is a dragon-type animal that has been confirmed to live in ultra-high-altitude areas across the world on Earth, Sawintir, and Agarathos.

Lore
Weather Dragons Bagani - 2026 AD
Ancient civilizations showed the others, and archaeologists found the fallen star in the written rocks as a sign of a moving red comet. Many indigenous peoples and other nationalities in other countries with high altitudes found several allegations of moving red comets across the world. This is a big controversy about Valstrax. Since this dragon was extinct in World War II, other kinds were spotted in Pakistan, and some were evacuated from this animal, which started to be the Lazarus taxon. Never before should many animals from the Monster Hunter universe enter our world, like Elder Dragons and Rathalos, according to Varian and Princess Rapunzel. When Saurfolk and other settlers first arrived in Horitlos or other areas, the population of Valstrax began to decline. Globally, there were roughly 2 million Valstrax before settlers arrived.
Crimson Glow Valstrax is the rarest species of Elder Dragon found in Tibet, the Alps, Mount Apo, Puncak Jaya, Aoraki, and even the Andes as an introduced species by natural migratory. Valstrax made his debut in the Weather Dragons of Gaisgeach series, Bagani: Wedding of Mountains or Curse of Castle Mountain, as a minor protagonist and antihero.
Both Jeremy and Tzipporah noted that many people in Manazia (Breton: menez, means mountain) know that the two saurfolks and two fairies are cursed by the sukob / су́коб (Serbian Croatian for "conflict," in Tagalog for "wedding curse"). These two words make sense of the humor, and their wedding curse was made by the Elder Dragon, according to Captain Hook, his allies, and his son Harry Hook. The Mapuches of the Tolentino clan are forced to defend couples from unexpected threats from two Valstrax and other sky-related stories made by Anita Manezwa, the evil sorceress from Agartha.

Trivia
Crimson Glow Valstrax is the second Variant in the series to be introduced in a game where its standard version is not present, following Scarred Yian Garuga.
Crimson Glow Valstrax is the final monster that can be unlocked in Monster Hunter Rise before the release of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak.
Unlike the standard Valstrax, which only tries to inhale when it needs to after a certain time has passed, the Crimson Glow Valstrax will actively try to inhale as it fights to enter the new state where its wings would take a pure crimson glow. The chest temporarily becomes the weak point as it inhales the air.
Just like with the standard Valstrax, if enough damage is dealt on the chest during this period, its chest will explode with dragon energy, dealing a huge damage to Valstrax and topples it, leaving it open to attacks, as well as preventing its wings to become crimson glow.
During this state, after performing a rocket dash towards the hunter, Crimson Glow Valstrax can hover high in the air. At that point, it will follow up by either landing and shooting out draconic energy blasts or diving down on the hunter.
During this state, Crimson Glow Valstrax's wing slam attacks will leave the patch of dragon energy that will explode after a few seconds.
During this state, Crimson Glow Valstrax is capable of firing a large draconic beam akin to that of Nakarkos.
During this state, its wings become a weak point.
Additionally, after firing a beam from its wings, Crimson Glow Valstrax can redirect the beam and fire it a second time.
Crimson Glow Valstrax can possbily show up during Amatsu or Narwa quest to attack it.
