The Stymphalian Bird (Chalcornis stymphalica) is one of the mythical creatures from Greek mythology and a fictional species of pelecaniform first introduced in Worldcraft series.

The Stymphalian bird is similar to the ibis; however, it is not a close relative and is thought to have evolved in parallel. Have copper-metallized feathers that are oxidized and glossy. Have a bronze-like, iron-based carbon sticky beak that is sharper than a sword. Their legs were actually normal, with sticky, worn copper on the feathers at the knees. The claws on their talons were glossy and iron-sticky from volcanic action. In contrast to the hamerkop and shoebill, which have hazel eyes, the Stymphalian bird has green eyes.
Although they were clad in coppers, which were plentiful in Greece, The Stymphalian birds were closely related to shoebills and hamerkops in Africa. The Stymphalian birds use the coppers on their wings and feathers as a defense and weapon.
The Stymphalian bird produces lightweight copper pinions from its feathers and swiftly regrows them because the reduced copper weight is less than the typical weight of copper and orichalcum. It pierces diamond-tier armor and structures with its metal-covered beaks. Without night vision goggles, it was simple to spot the Stymphalian birds.
The stomach will be full and will spit out after farting if the meal was digested like chocolates or desserts. When the Stymphalian bird's stench drove all creatures away, save ghosts and family members. It deals with letting out a fart. The Stymphalian bird is impervious to the toxins in copper, and humans have been poisoned by the bird's raw copper excrement. Severe poisoning can result in liver failure and even death. The degree of organ damage determines the outcome of poisonings caused by a chronic accumulation of copper in the body.
When in the "oxidization state," the Stymphalian birds are covered with poisonous verdigris that, if it pierces through the flesh, is lethal to most living things, even fairies.
The lightning bolts, which are thought to be electrical conductors, weaken and paralyze Stymphalian birds. The only temperature weakness for Stymphalian birds is extreme heat. The Stymphalian birds were weathered and oxidized over the days without waxing, which is the result of collision theory. They may be weak in their defense against copper turning into malachite, and they are easily killed by pickaxes, but they are unable to conduct electricity because of oxidation, which is countered by baking soda and white vinegar.
But Athena, the goddess of knowledge and an Isu, stepped in to help her nephew Heracles. She gave Hercules a pair of castanets, which are bronze rattles crafted by the god of craftsmanship, Hephaestus. The birds would have to leave their hiding spots due to the loud and unsettling noise produced by these castanets. As an alternative, Bosnian hunters employ loud speakers, as directed by Queen Arianna in the 2010s, to divert these copper birds from Croatia so that tourists are not disturbed and to escape the birds to Tunisia.

The birds' name comes from the fact that they lived in a swamp in Stymphalia, one of the ancient Greek cities. These birds were either raised by the god Ares or were regarded as pets of the goddess Artemis. In order to avoid a band of wolves, wildlife, people, fauns, dryads, or sheep, they moved to an Arcadian marsh and used their metal-covered, intelligent, and dung-covered feathers as weapons.
Then, using feathered arrows tipped with the toxic blood of the dead Hydra, Heracles shot a large number of them. Because of Athena's assistance, this labor was disregarded in some retellings of the tale. The others flew far away, never to return to haunt Arcadia or perhaps even Greece today. As evidence of his accomplishment, Heracles presented Eurystheus with a few of the dead birds.
The Stymphalian birds are renowned for their memory, social skills, and problem-solving ability, making them very clever birds, much like crows rather than hamerkops and pelicans. The ability to make and use tools, such as bending wire into hooks to retrieve food, is a characteristic shared by all members of this species. due to the fact that Stymphalian birds are gregarious creatures that may collaborate with others and reach conclusions as a group.
Native to Greece, the Stymphalian birds congregate in marshy areas for breeding and food, but during the winter they travel to North Africa and Western Asia.

Because the Stymphalian birds dislike classical or baroque music because they find it annoying and become angry enough to commit suicide, they were very clever to shake to themselves from modern songs or rattling sounds. They also dare not listen to secular music. The Stymphalian birds' graving and pecking of ice or glaciers to eat is known as pagophagia, and it would occur if this bird had an iron deficiency.
The Stymphalian birds, who are highly dependent on ice as iron, enjoy ice cream and other ice delicacies. The Stymphalian bird was tamed by feeding it ice cubes or ice cream after being knocked out by tranquilizer darts with special-tipped metals that were weaker to copper (orichalcum).
In his sixth labor for Eurystheus, Heracles (Hercules) subdued the Stymphalian birds. The ground would not bear Heracles' weight, so he was unable to enter the marsh and reach the bird nests. When Athena saw the hero's predicament, she offered Heracles a krotala rattle that Hephaestus had specifically prepared for the event. Heracles scared the birds into the air by shaking the krotala, which resembled castanets, on a certain peak that overlooked the lake.
