The Hinqumemen (IPA: hɪŋku'memen) is one of the mythical creatures and naiads that was introduced in the Worldcraft Series and Weather Dragons. It was debuted as the third antagonist in Elf's Heritage against Twelve Princesses in Zowhringe Island.

In contrast to siphonophores, what looks to be a single naiad, Hinqumemen is actually a massive colony of microscopic organisms that use small tentacles to trap water between their cells. Before Native Americans gave this species a proper name, the Ancient Civilization produced the artificial microscopic lifeform known as Hinqumemen. After a "spirit" from a lake abducted the wildlife and populations of several settlements, the Guild first found it in lakes in Idaho in 1800s.
Until the object makes contact with the creature, it is unable to see. Hinqumemen will then locate its victim by leaving a pheromone scent. Once the prey has been identified, the organism will slowly digest it with the aid of specific chemicals after drowning it in its own mass. To leave its "baptized" pheromone markings on the internal landscape and surface, the naiad would need to have been in this area for a considerable amount of time, as evidenced by its ability to "see" the interiors of the structures around the landscape. As a weapon or defense for Hinqumemen, they can mold the water into any shape they need to hunt prey, including spheres, tentacles, humanoid-like structures, and serpent-like formations.

However, if the lake becomes polluted, the entire colony dies.
Unfortunately, they do not migrate in search of food; they always stay in one location. Used by some scientists as a biological warfare this naiad. How long the eras (Great American Interchange; Fertile Crescent; Ancient Greece; Roman Empire; Middle Age; Lancelot and Guinevere; Year Without Summer; The Great War; and even the future) for Hinqumemen's survive in one false lake, being as endangered.

The Coeur d'Alene people inhabited an area that included western Montana, eastern Washington, and northern Idaho. According to their tales, there is a lake from which one must never draw water.
