Naga by (Homophis indica; Sanskrit: नाग (Nāga): IPA: nəːɡɑ) is a mythical creature that is introduced in Worldcraft: Dharma and Karma.

Etymology

From the word Naga, because of the same other words "snake," from the Sanskrit word "nāga" नाग means snake, because of other words from their Indo-European family: from *sneg- (“to crawl; a creeping thing”).

Physical Appearance

Nagas differ from other races, such as humans, in that they have similar color patterns and skin based on the kind of snake they are, such as coral snakes, sea kraits, vipers, boas, pythons, cobras, and ratsnakes, in addition to the color variations that are probably unique to the snake's pet owner. The only extinct animal with skin that has been confirmed is this one.

Uncertainty surrounds Naga's true identity and color pattern. The real naga has skin with dark brown dorsal crossbar markings and yellow dorsal crossbar markings with gradients; it is a regular naga. Their eyes are varied, as are their skins and patterns.

Abilities

The nagas are highly intelligent snakes and can use telepathy to control any serpent, from a small worm snake to the sea serpent. Nagas are semi-aquatic, which means they can live both in the water and on land and can even breathe underwater.

Some naga snakes are capable of breathing fire or spitting poison on their fangs.

Ecology

The little information we have about naga snake society is vague, but they are well-organized enough to have constructed a whole city underground in their nest, complete with sentries, intricate architecture, statues (which suggests they value art and music just as much as people do), and a throne room for their Queen.

Despite this species being like humans, nagas are intelligent reptiles, unlike their relatives, due to their evolution. Nagas are good swimmers and diggers, as well as climbers. But the Nagas are known for their natural defense; their fangs are not venomous; instead, they are poisonous. Some nagas are overfed, can be suffocated, or lack of poisonous consists of their left their marks are wounded you.

Behavior

Nagas are enemies of Vodyanoy and/or Garuda in various locations and are found in myths.

Distribution and Habitat

Nagas lived in habitats like ponds, sacred groves, swamps, rivers, and even caves. However, there is no record of the nagas that live in the underworld due to the dispute between eaglefolk and demons in the other world and their being considered rivals.

Lore

Nagas are modified by Project Pashnea from Terran Deities. They are principally depicted in three forms: as entirely human with snakes on the heads and necks, as common serpents, or as half-human, half-snake beings in Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism.  In some stories in Philippine and Indonesian myths, the Nagas are benevolent guardians of hidden places, but in others they are the “aswang ng gubat”. vicious animals who use their beauty and voice to lure men and devour them.

Some nagas are snake-like mermaids that may take a human form. They tend to be very curious. According to traditions nagas are only malevolent to humans when they have been mistreated. They are susceptible to mankind's disrespectful actions in relation to the environment. They are also associated with waters—rivers, lakes, seas, and wells—and are generally regarded as guardians of treasure. According to legend, they are the children of the sage nagas Kashyapa and Kadru. Rituals devoted to these supernatural beings have been taking place throughout South Asia for at least 2,000 years.

Nagas are persistent over four hundred years and hide in secluded locations, including in Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, Wat Phra Kaew, Phnom Penh, Royal Palace of Yogyakarta, Pura Parahyangan Agung Jagatkarta, Mekong River, Kamchanod Forest, Isan, Pahang, and even Robinson's Galleria. The belief of a snake twin is very old, way back in the 17th century, when Fray Ignacio Francisco Alzina’s 1668 “History of the Bisayan Islands” mentioned it. Oryol is a demi-goddess and a naga in Bicolano myths; she is mentioned in the epic Ibalong. Believed to be the daughter of the deity Asuang. Oryol leads her legion of monsters against the humans and their leader, Handiong. In some tales, Handiong breaks the curse that forces Oryol to turn into a snake, and the two fall in love and marry, ushering in a golden age for their land.

While for Chinese, snakes are a good-luck charm for businesses, that’s the reason why some of them keep snakes in their house, especially in bodega. Well, animals should be fed. (You’ll know what I mean.) It is a supernatural being (definitely a monster), which is almost incredible, but many people do believe it exists. No one knows the exact figure of what it truly looks like (maybe similar to that picture above); just as they said, it is a half-human, half-snake.

Conservationist Hunters of Luzon hunt the saying "snake man" in Robinson’s Galleria. They said it dwells in a secret room (or in the basement, or over the building) of Robinson's Galleria along EDSA, Ortigas. It became famous because of Alice Dixson, a popular actress in the Philippines during the late 80’s and early 90’s.

According to some news and information, the Robinson snake man has a spy cam that enables him to see beautiful women who use the dressing room of the mall. If the Robinson Snakeman wants to get the girl to eat her or just to have fun, all he has to do is click the switch button that commands the floor in the dressing room to open. Well, Alice was very unfortunate that day because she used the wrong dressing room. Alice fell down the snake's dungeon, and she was supposed to be eaten, but she was able to escape.

Although the rumor is now considered absurd and possibly dead, it was revived in 2010 after a supposed YouTube video depicting it surfaced. Businesswoman Robina Gokongwei-Pe asserted in 2008 that the tale emerged from "market competition." Dixson herself dismissed the entire narrative as fake, and in 2020, she finally put the entire tale to rest through a YouTube video. However, the "snake-man" may have also syncretized with the Hindu nagas over many years.
