Elsa of Arendelle is the fictional deuteragonist of Disney's 2013 animated feature film Frozen and the protagonist of its 2019 sequel. Born with the power of ice and snow, Elsa is the firstborn daughter of King Agnarr and Queen Iduna, the older sister of Queen Anna, and the former queen of Arendelle.

She is the last known and fifth spirit by the Northuldras with her allies, an earth golem; a flaming salamander; a gust; and a nokk for destroy her grandfather's dam and releases magic throughout the world in Earth for Ahtohallan and Arendelle.

Elsa is loosely based on the title character of "The Snow Queen", a Danish fairytale by Hans Christian Andersen. In the Disney film adaptation, she is introduced as a princess in the fictional Scandinavian Kingdom of Arendelle (present-day Norway), heiress to the throne and the elder sister of Princess Anna (based on Gerda), and future brother-in-law Kristoff (based on Kai).

Etymology

Elsa's name (a variant of Elizabeth) is Germanic for noble.

Physical Appearance

Elsa is a beautiful young woman, has a tall and slender build, blue eyes, rosy cheeks, thin pink lips, a small nose, long, platinum-blonde hair, and pale skin with a light dusting of freckles (a trait she shares with her sister Anna, though less prominent).

Before and during My Last Blessings event, Elsa wears a teal dress with a sweetheart bodice with bronze trim, and dark teal, maroon and purple rosemaling on the skirt and bodice, a black, long-sleeved turtleneck blouse with red and teal crystal-shaped prints on it, a long, magenta cape, a small, gold tiara (with adorning Palawan peacock-pheasant and Eurasian jay's feathers), dark brown flats with gold outlines, and teal tights underneath, and her hair woven in a French braided crown twist bun held together with a blue ribbon. She wears long, light turquoise gloves with teal prints that go with her outfit. Her eyelids have a dusting of purple eye shadow, and she wears magenta lipstick.

During the war for Reinachos, Elsa's dress takes the mantle of the fifth element, Elsa's hair is now loose, and she wears a combination between her second outfit and her dress from her Snow Queen state; she wears a white off-the-shoulder dress with a right knee-high slit, knee-heighted light grayish-blue leggings, light blue tights and white long sleeves which have the symbol of the four elements at the shoulder. Along her chest down to her waist are diamond-shaped ice crystals resembling the elements of fire, water, wind, and earth. Her translucent cape fades to blue at the bottom and is split in two, like fairy wings, draping over her as if to showcase her status as the fifth spirit. Elsa wields an ancient ice core spear from Antarctica.

Abilities

Elsa possess her own ice magic to completely control after their trauma. Much like Princess Belle, she immunes to cold.

Personality

Beneath this cool and collected appearance, however, Elsa is quite turbulent; in truth, the Snow Queen was, for a majority of her young life, troubled by her abilities, a feeling which stems from a traumatic incident as a child (also shares with Archie, Isabella, Camilo, Belle, Varian, Kevin, Stitch, Joszef and others). Elsa also has a generous disposition that contributes to her compassion towards her people and animals. Unfortunately, that comes with a price, as Archie's trigger for her, even with Anna's persistence to help end the curse. Elsa's greatest flaw, driven by her anxiety and traumatic childhood experiences from Elder Dragons, like Kushala Daora and Velkhana.

Though a benevolent and giving person, Elsa suffers from emotional instability due to years of keeping her emotions bottled up and she was very happy when Archie was nearby. When her strong emotions are triggered, Elsa often loses control over her emotions which can create dangerous situations for herself and others around her. However, she was dressed from coronation before being made by Varian and Camilo Madrigal to be helped by Anna and Kristoff for her remastered dress to live with the Reinachos.

Causing Roxana's war in Reinachos against Berbanians and Reinachans, including Earthlings like Elsa, she commands any polar and subpolar animals (like skuas, polar bears, wolves, weasels, rats, sheathbills, petrels, snow foxes, to moths) to take her down from committing cold-blooded murder to protect herself, Archie and her friends.

Many Jejiriqueno residents and Disney characters (like Sisudatu and Kevin the bird), attacked by Roxana's minions, the Fragiles, attempted to assassinate her and Elsa realizes she has no choice but to fight back, and, unable to control her fury, goes from self-defense to fighting back more aggressively, while Stitch, Kevin and Sisu became more aggressive and Jejiriquenos kill Roxana’s minions for the end.

Trivia

Anna is very fond of chocolate and shares this trait with her elder sister, Elsa. Anna shares this trait like Archie, Isabella, Jorinda, Varian, Belle, and others.
Anna is also fond of krumkake. She taught Hans how to eat krumkake when they spent time together at Elsa's coronation party.
Anna's favourite flowers are Sunflowers, she shows in Worldcraft: The Center.
Despite being unconscious at the time, Anna had some recollection of her first meeting with the trolls, having told Hans that she dreamt the platinum blonde streak in her hair was the result of being "kissed by a troll".
Though Anna refused to allow Kristoff to tell Olaf that he would melt in heat, she was ultimately the one who revealed this to the snowman.
As a child, Anna had read nearly every book in the library, and a lot of them twice through.
- Anna also chewed on books when she was a toddler and shares this trait with her cousin Archie, but both are forgotten.
Anna has a braid like this movie, she wears different necklaces, both bracelet and wedding ring are made by trolls and humans in Norway, but their gem was made of Kushala Daora, the Elder Dragon native to Scandinavia, but mistaken for goshenite on steroids.
In Frozen II, Anna is seen wearing kitten heels, but she takes them off before entering the castle, possibly implying that she's not used to wearing such shoes like her elder sister, Elsa.
Anna is a huge fan of foreign cultures. She used to invite Arendelle's visitors to share memories of their own countries so she could learn about their customs, she shows in Worldcraft: Trio Origins and end of Ahtohallan's Recollection.
