The Hazard Fiervadagi (Iridophipteryx naja) is the one of the fictional species of boid introduced in the upcoming series of Weather Dragons.
Fiervadagi is the portmanteau from Northern Sami: fierrat means glide or slide, and arvedΓ‘vgi means rainbow, which means "rainbow glide", because of their multicolored skin, their hood, and their hind flippers. In the Avalonian language, the native name for this species was Vonnalsaf Ehorralzak (Scary Face Fiervadagi).
Contrary to its sibling, Hazard Fiervadagi has a distinguishing bicolor pattern with a yellow underbelly and brown back. Its comparatively large and extremely spectacular hood, on which it grows when threatened, makes it easy to identify. Hazard Fiervadagi has a hood mark that looks like two circular ocelli patterns connected by a curving line and is reddish sad with "fang," scaring anyone that comes in contact with it. Their eyes were hazel in color.
Like boas, Fiervadagi possess hind legs that are now longer but are used for gliding, walking, and even grappling in trees. Fiervadagi possess tail flukes like mosasaurs. Hazard Fiervadagi is considered smaller than normal Fiervadagi, dwarfing Titanoboa's size and weight.
The Hazard Fiervadagi breathes flaming projectiles at its foes rather than the glowing, cold water of its common counterpart. Unlike their common relatives, they lack their petrification effects and are sharper than swords.
Fiervadagi are flying out of the water thanks to their enormous, wing-like pectoral hood and streamlined, elongated shape, which enable them to gain enough underwater speed to breach the surface. They frequently stretch their neck muscles and ribs to form a hood for gliding. Similar to cobras, their neck skin, underlying musculature, and ribs actively expand laterally to form a protective hood.
Unlike their relative, Hazard Fiervadagi is a lot more cunning and smarter than their relative in terms of head scalation and the location of the heat pits around the mouth, depending on the mood.
This boid is also found in more mild-climate areas in Sawintir. The Hazard Fiervadagi has also been reported in colder waters worldwide, both in Sawintir, Agartha, and Earth.
