The Vodyanoy/Vodianoi/Vodyanoi/Vodnik or possibly Matsya (Batrachanthros starimudri; Russian: Водяно́й; meaning: "he from a water") is the one of the mythical creature introduced in Worldcraft's Yabhai Ettu. The male one is called a Vodyanoi, and the female one is called a Vodyanikha.
This animal was introduced or mentioned in The Last Stormtroopers, Historya Davvun, Seven Code Talkers, No Way to Seaway, Weather Dragons, Project Daejeon, Two Lights, Worldcraft, Equation, and Rescris.

The Vodyanoy, a humanoid salamander, has smooth to warty skin with projections resembling hairs that people mistake for actual keratin. Some have webbed arms, but their length is the same as ours. Some of them have webbed legs, while others have plantigrade legs. With some white sprinkler markings, their skin was entirely dull brown to pale brownish white. Their ears work similarly to ours; they have a keen sense of hearing, but they are particularly good at listening underwater. Not like their unrelated ones, they are able to breathe both water and air. Because they have never been assaulted by an enemy younger than them, the locals frequently refer to them as "grandfathers" or "forefathers."
The female Vodyanoy DONT HAVE ANY NIPPLES ON THEIR CHEST because there are AMPHIBIANS!
Vodyanoy is an ambush predator that randomly targets anything, even people. Any type of water—natural or man-made—such as snow, ice, condensation, dew, or pollution—such as bender in offense or defense—was used to represent Vodyanoy. It is reported that the vodyanoy (or rusalkas) are responsible for local drownings. In Czechia or Slovakia, the Vodník were known to use colored ribbons as lures to draw people near water so they could kidnap them. They would occasionally pose as peddlers and tie them to grass or other objects.
In the Indian subcontinent, the vodyanoy would occasionally enslave humans by dragging them down to its underwater home. Because the skin of all salamanders is absorbent, human hands' oils, salts, and lotions can harm them. Try moistening your hands before attempting to move a salamander.

During the Stone Age, the Vodyanoy were a Slavic legendary race that inhabited the areas between India and Russia. Vodniks, which resemble tadpoles that resemble young frogs, are different from other salamanders in that they can breathe air and have well-developed lungs. Unlike their relatives, the giant salamanders, they change quickly, much like our planet.
Vodyanoy takes seven times as much water as an amphibian to avoid dehydration and to keep their skin from drying up, as newts require moisture. Their hair, like epidermal projections, serves the same purpose as fur or hair; it can be dyed and dried, but it loses its color when exposed to water and returns to normal because these projections are not composed of keratin.
Vodyanoy has its unique cuisine and traditions that are far removed from Slavic mythology, and their primitive qualities are officially protected globally as a conservation measure. Their food is expressive and linked to the environment, such as marshes or river deltas. Russians served these Vodniks to Indians as servants or troops to compensate for the cost of drowning any opponent who targets innocent people or something else.
In reality, the Vodnik are a confined species under any circumstances. The vodyanoy destroys water mills, smashes dams, drowns humans or organisms, or uses them as slaves to have a ruler when they are enraged (for example, when one of the same species dies or their partner dies). As they form an alliance against some of their competitors, some Vodnik wish to break away from the harsh rule and unite with humanity. Despite their nasty appearance, many Vodnik are actually nice and silly creatures.
Vodyanoy was discovered in the dossiers of Shah Jahan, Tsar Nicholas II, and other people from Russia, Belarus, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Czechia, Nepal, Iran, India, and others. Vodyanoy is the main ally away from Leshy and Polevik, while others from Hindu mythology include Vanara, Garuda, Naga, and others.
Vodyanoy is an indigenous species that emerged in Russia and other surrounding nations, beginning in Ukraine. Many documented cases of Vodyanoy's populations include Sawintir, Agartha, Berbania, Reinachos, Jotunheim, and others. Prior to the construction of the Taj Mahal, the vodyanoys, which were ubiquitous throughout Eurasia, formed alliances with the vanaras, a race of humanoid monkeys from Hindu mythology who share Indo-European mythology. From the past to the present, Indians, Tamils, Telugus, Punjabis, and others thought many vodyanoys to be matsya, or fish people. Vodyanoy's lone indigenous species is Ukraine; it migrates briefly over mainland Eurasia before settling down.
All individuals are said to dwell in a slough (омут), kettle hole (Котловина), or a whirlpool of a river, pond or lake, and liked especially to live near a watermill. One that dwells in marshlands may be called a bolotnyanik (Болотняник).
