Diprotodon is an extinct genus of marsupial from the Pleistocene of Australia containing one species, Diprotodon optatum.
Diprotodon optatum is introduced or mentioned in The Last Stormtrooper, Tigers of Old World, Historya Davvun, Seven Code Talkers, No Way to Seaway, Weather Dragons, Project Daejeon, Two Lights, Worldcraft, Equation, and Rescris.
The name "Diprotodon" comes from Ancient Greek: "di" = two, "proto" = first/front, and "odon" = tooth; it means "two-fronted teeth," referring to its giant incisors. The species name “optatum” means “desired” or “elongated” in Latin.
Diprotodon optatum is not only the largest known species of diprotodontid, but also the largest known marsupial to ever exist. Approximately 3 m (10 ft) long and 2 m (7 ft) high at the shoulder and weighing up to 2,780 kg (6,130 lb), it resembled a giant wombat. It is the only marsupial known, living or extinct, to have conducted seasonal migrations.
Despite its enormous size, Diprotodon probably dug shallow ground depressions, had a keen sense of smell, and traversed great distances in search of water and vegetation. Like elephants, hippos, and extant wombats, it could probably swim fairly effectively. Because of their body fat and lung capacity, large mammals frequently float well. Diprotodon may have occasionally crossed floodplains and wetlands, according to fossil data.

Diprotodon was a herbivore that consumed reeds, saltbush, shrubs, grasses, and leaves. By uprooting foliage, spreading seeds, making trails, and excavating for water, Diprotodon probably impacted Australian habitats in the same way that elephants shape African savannas. This mammal most likely lived in loose herds, family groups, and seasonal migrations close to bodies of water.
They weren't unbeatable despite their size. They were hunted by the marsupial lion (Thylacoleo carnifex), which used its strong "bolt-cutter" teeth to cut their spinal cords. Megalania, a 20-foot monitor lizard, was another predator in Australia. It would have been a deadly ambush predator, perhaps going after Diprotodon near water holes. These giants coexisted with early Indigenous Australians, or what is now known as Australian Aboriginals. There is evidence that humans hunted them, although the extent of this impact is still up for question.
As a marsupial:
Breeding System
Females likely gave birth to tiny underdeveloped joeys
Joeys probably crawled into a pouch
Young remained protected for months
Reproductive Strategy
Low reproductive rate
Long parental care
Slow population growth
Similar to elephants and pigs, Diprotodon are likely to engage in tranquil grazing, social contact among herds, protective aggressiveness when threatened, and mud wallowing during heat. It might have used body posture, scent marking, and low vocalizations to communicate. Diprotodon's sheer size would make them exceedingly deadly if they were still around today. They were probably agitated and extremely territorial, especially during the breeding season, much like hippos or rhinos.

Diprotodon vanished around 40,000 to 25,000 years ago; their end was likely a "perfect storm" of human hunting, fire-stick farming changing the landscape, and a severe shift in climate that dried up their watering holes.
Human Hunting - Early humans arrived in Australia roughly 50,000 years ago and may have hunted Diprotodon, burned vegetation, and disrupted habitats.
Climate Change - Australia became drier, hotter, and less fertile in today. Water sources shrank and vegetation changed dramatically.
Combined Theory - Most researchers think climate stress weakened populations and human pressure finished them off.
In several parts of Australia, including deserts, grasslands, forests, and lake areas, Diprotodon fossils have been discovered. It particularly enjoyed broad savanna forest, freshwater lakes, and floodplains. Entire herds stuck in drought conditions can be found at some fossil sites.

In fact, it was absolutely not possible to tame Diprotodon. They would flatten any home fence or structure with a casual lean, and they needed hundreds of kg of leaves per day. Because they would need a lot of grazing acreage, food would be very expensive, and fence would need to be as strong as an elephant, regular people could not keep one as a home pet. Like rhinos or elephants, they might be kept in affluent wildlife parks or conservation reserves.
After creating humans and changing all animal species, the Isu implanted artificial neurotransmitters in all animals' brains. This method kills all purebred and natural animal species, even those that appear natural and unmanufactured. The Apples of Eden have mental dominion over all species, including humans, because they can control the brain via their interactions with neurotransmitters.

The "Sky People" brought Diprotodon to the exoplanet of Cygnus, also known as Reinachos or Ityosel. It was then sent to the present-day continent of Pascua, which is the second "homeland" of Pagans, Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, Samaritans, Shamans, and Aboriginal Australians. In order to stop hate crimes, Aboriginal Australians utilize all Australian wildlife as soldiers and terrorists, whereas Muslims and Jews subject the bunyip and other Australian wildlife as war animals used for terrorism.
The regulations of the Five Pillars of Islam and the Eightfold Path caused the non-whites to turn against the whites, blacks, and browns, which backfired on the white settlers. Avoid the scenarios; in Reinachos, they successfully introduced Native Americans who lived in the desert to the continent. However, as the struggle between the semiaquatic marsupial lion and humans intensifies, the bunyip escalates the occurrences.
