Aenshin
“ This enormous, whale-like Elder Dragon was born from the ocean into the sky at their height many years ago, earning it the title of "Sentinel." But it vanished after the conflicts from "God's" War and turned hostile against tragedy, genocide, ecocide, and atrocities. ”

Aenshin is a winged dragon resembles a colossal flying baleen whale with two pairs of flippers. Its upper body is covered in a thick shell of blue-gray crystalline crust, with numerous teal, blue, and purple crystal spines along its back, upper flippers, tail fin, and head. The undersides of its upper flippers, its tail fins, and its horn are entirely crystal. It has a single large crystal atop its back that is normally protected by a thick shell. Its hide is dark grey with beige stripes on the underbelly. It has a row of small gills along its neck and a large brown "beard." Its eyes glow red. In its battle-bound state its hide pulses with dark blue stripes and its crystals become purple in color. Juvenile Aenshin is orangish-pink in color and lacks crystals.
Aenshin can emit a gas from its gills and as a massive beam from its mouth that crystallizes anything caught in it. It then sucks up the crystallized monsters and anything else in its path. When enraged, it can generate crystal shards and fire them at enemies like missiles, summon element-imbued crystals to support it, and generate a crystalline narwhal-like horn to batter enemies.
Aenshin inflicts the abnormal status Petrified. Those affected cannot regenerate stamina, and if they are hit by another attack that inflicts Petrified, they are instantly downed. It can be removed by riding a Monstie.

Aenshin is the source of the Crystal Encroachment that plagues the land. It once protected the Sacrosanctum's ecosystem, but the use of battle-bound monsters in the Rift War sent it into a frenzy and led to the destruction of the Sacrosanctum and the exodus of its people. It's powerful enough to influence the world politically and create wars between Azuria and Vermeil.
Losing the battle against Aenshin will result in a unique cutscene where the monster begins to decimate the entire vicinity, the camera lingers on the fallen character as the screen glitches or darkens into particle-filled dark voids.
It becomes unstable and resets you back to your last stable checkpoint before the battle as a result of desynchronization of any historical figure in the past.
Historically, your ancestor or historical figure didn't die at that moment.
