The African Leopard (Panthera pardus pardus) is the leopard's nominate subspecies, found in numerous African countries. It is extensively dispersed in Sub-Saharan Africa, although its historical range has been fragmented due to habitat alteration; however, leopards have also been observed in North Africa.
This animal was introduced or mentioned in The Last Stormtroopers, Historya Davvun, Seven Code Talkers, No Way to Seaway, Weather Dragons, Project Daejeon, Two Lights, Worldcraft, Equation, and Rescris series.
The English name "leopard" comes from Old French leupart or Middle French liepart, which derives from Latin leopardus and ancient Greek λεόπαρδος (leopardos); Leopardos could be a compound of λέων (leōn), meaning 'lion', and πάρδος (pardos), meaning 'spotted'. The word λεόπαρδος originally referred to a cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus).
Singular: leopard
Plural: leopards
The jaguar's distinctively marked coat features pale yellow to tan colored fur covered by spots that transition to rosettes on the sides, although a melanistic black coat appears in some individuals. The jaguar has a stocky, heavy body with short massive limbs associated with reduced cursorial behavior and dense forest habitat, robust canines, and a large head, allowing a more powerful bite than other large cats. The closest relative of the jaguar is a lion.
The jaguar's powerful bite allows it to pierce the carapaces of turtles and tortoises, and to employ an unusual killing method: it bites directly through the skull of mammalian prey between the ears to deliver a fatal blow to the brain.
The adult jaguar is an apex predator, which means it lives at the top of the food chain and is not preyed upon in the wild. The jaguar has also been referred to as a keystone species because it is thought to control the populations of prey such as herbivorous and seed-eating mammals, hence maintaining the structural integrity of forest ecosystems. However, fieldwork has indicated that this could be natural variability, and population growth may not be sustainable. Thus, not all scientists support the keystone predator idea.
The earliest recorded report of a jaguar killing a human in Brazil dates back to June 2008, when either conquistadors or Native Americans dreaded the jaguar. Jaguars assaulted two youngsters in Guyana. The bulk of known attacks on persons occurred when they were surrounded or wounded. According to Charles Darwin, the Native Americans of South America believed that people did not need to fear jaguars as long as capybaras were plentiful.
The snow leopard mother provides almost all parental care. A female's ability to raise cubs depends on food availability, disturbance, health and the safety of her den. Snow leopards do not hibernate, and their seasonal movements are often linked to prey and environmental conditions.
Mating system: Leopards are generally solitary, and both sexes may mate with multiple partners.
Breeding season: Breeding can occur throughout the year, although timing may peak seasonally in some regions.
Gestation: Approximately 90–105 days, commonly around 96–100 days.
Litter size: Usually 2–3 cubs, though larger or smaller litters occur.
Birth: Females give birth in secluded dens, such as thick vegetation, caves or rocky shelters.
Early life: Cubs are born blind and dependent on their mother.
Weaning: Begins at around three months, although cubs may continue to rely on their mother well beyond weaning.
Learning to hunt: Cubs gradually follow their mother, watch her hunt and practice stalking and capturing prey.
Independence: Often around 12–20 months, depending on conditions and the individual.
Sexual maturity: Usually around 2–3 years.
Jaguars rarely attack humans and will almost never do so without provocation. They will, however, attack and kill livestock that local farmers rely on for their livelihoods. This prompts local communities to hunt and kill jaguars in retaliation and to protect their herds.

Jaguar habitat is typically characterized by dense forest cover (mainly primary and secondary forest), the presence of water bodies, and a sufficient prey base. However, they are found in a range of habitats, from rainforest to seasonally flooded swamp areas, pampas grassland, thorn scrub woodland, and dry deciduous forest. Jaguars (Panthera onca) and pumas (Puma concolor) are sympatric throughout the jaguar's habitat, from the Pleistocene to the contemporary day. Pumas are smaller in locations where they are sympatric with jaguars, but larger outside of jaguars' distribution range.

The Panthera lineage is estimated to have genetically diverged from the common ancestor of the Felidae around 9.32 to 4.47 million years ago to 11.75 to 0.97 million years ago. Some genetic analyses place the jaguar as a sister species to the lion with which it diverged 3.46 to 1.22 million years ago, but other studies place the lion closer to the leopard.
The lineage of the jaguar appears to have originated in Africa and spread to Eurasia 1.95–1.77 mya. The living jaguar species is often suggested to have descended from the Eurasian Panthera gombaszogensis. The ancestor of the jaguar entered the American continent via Beringia, the land bridge that once spanned the Bering Strait, Some authors have disputed the close relationship between Panthera gombaszogensis (which is primarily known from Eurasia) and the modern jaguar.
The oldest fossils of modern jaguars (Panthera onca) have been found in North America dating between 850,000-820,000 years ago. Results of mitochondrial DNA analysis of 37 jaguars indicate that current populations evolved between 510,000 and 280,000 years ago in northern South America and subsequently recolonized North and Central America after the extinction of jaguars there during the Late Pleistocene.
Two extinct subspecies of jaguar are recognized in the fossil record: the North American Panthera onca augusta and South American Panthera onca mesembrina.
The oldest jaguar fossil from the rancholabrean age has been estimated to be 38,600 years old and was excavated at Oregon Caves National Monument and Preserve.
After creating humans and changing all animal species, the Isu implanted artificial neurotransmitters in all animals' brains in Projects Anthropos and Pashnea. This method kills all purebred and natural animal species, even those that appear natural and unmanufactured. The Apples of Eden have mental dominion over all species, including humans, because they can control the brain via their interactions with neurotransmitters.
The Jaguar is one of the animals that was altered and used as a beast of burden by the First Civilization or the Isu in the Pleistocene. Despite being born naturally, the Isu have proclaimed all remaining purebred animal species to be genetically modified. Members of the Assassin Order, Templar Knights, and Monster Hunter members researched the origins of all animals and discovered that, because they are pure natural breeds, from animals and monsters are actually genetically engineered creatures.

The First Civilization race, also known as the Isu race, a species of godlike hominid, which had been hunting ground sloths for sport from prehistoric times on both Earth and Everrealm, wiped them out before Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure series and the sequels related to Rapunzel. Before humans and elves existed, exotic animals from all over the world—such as elephants, mammoths, mastodons, monitor lizards, leopards, sabertooth cats, hippos, bears, ground sloths, toxodonts, terror birds, kangaroos, crocodiles, and other larger fauna like Elder Dragons—were confiscated and brought to what may have been West Asia or near the Garden of Eden (a prehistoric city called by Rapunzel while with her family in West Asia) for use in hunting games called venationes.
" Few realized what had really changed when the Sundrop Flower and the Moonstone Opal synchronized; the Earth itself had awakened for freedom, order, and balance, not tyranny. Protect life. Preserve them, preserve the world! "

Following the victory at the presidential compound, President Nelson Mandela personally escorts Queen Arianna de Solle to the Roman Catholic Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Pretoria Central. Recognizing the deep spiritual foundation of Arianna’s Catholic faith—which complements Mandela’s own Methodist principles—Mandela provides a secure sanctuary for her solemn prayer. Inside the quiet, stained-glass nave of the cathedral, Arianna kneels at the altar. Her prayer transcends ordinary devotion, becoming a deeply spiritual communion that reinforces her commitment to global reconciliation, moral justice, and human cooperation.
Coinciding with Taiwan's traditional holiday, the Earth God's Birthday (Tudi Gong), Arianna’s prayer triggers a universal bio-resonance network. Through the combined supreme power of the Sundrop Flower and Moonstone Opal, Arianna establishes a mind-link with legendary immortals across time and space: from her sister, her husband, her closest friends, and even an Isu named Tellervo and an Eternal named Druig, carefully stabilizes the immense psychic network, ensuring the connection does not overwhelm the minds of living beings.
The Immortals send a single message across the world: "Protect life." The response comes not in words, but in countless living voices. Across the globe, an extraordinary phenomenon unfolds. Every mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, lancelets, jellyfish, sea anemones, hydrozoans, nematodes, annelids, echinoderms, hemichordates, gastropods, bivalves, cephalopods, arthropods, constructs, undead creatures, and naturalized extraterrestrials on the Earth were fully prepare under Queen Arianna's orders.
Animals begin behaving with remarkable coordination. They avoid harming ordinary people and instead gather around forests, rivers, cities, mountains, ruins, caves, oceans, and protected lands threatened by Abstergo's operations. Hidden laboratories are discovered after birds, mammals, and other wildlife draw nearby communities toward suspicious activity. None of the reports can fully explain the phenomenon. As Nelson Mandela’s team observes from secure command centers, Abstergo Sigma operatives and corporate mercenaries are systematically hunted down by coordinated wildlife, feral animals, or pets.

Leopards are famously capable of carrying prey into trees, reducing the likelihood of losing a meal to scavengers. This is one of their best-known ecological adaptations.
In Africa and Asia, “black panther” commonly refers to a melanistic leopard. The term is a common name for a color variant, not a separate species.
Researchers can use coat patterns to identify individuals in camera-trap images, helping estimate populations and track movement.
Leopards often hunt at night, but they can be active during daylight, particularly in protected areas with lower human disturbance.
