Corydidarum magnifica, also known as emerald cockroach, is a species of cockroach native to Vietnam and southern China, typically found under leaf litter or on tree bark.
ugh
The species' maximum length is 30 mm, and the female metallic green cockroaches are larger and thicker than the males. Adult females also lack wings, which are only found on adult males. They are gleaming green.
The same abilities that non-invasive and non-pest cockroaches possess. Only males are able to fly well because they have wings. Given how frequently this protective mimicry occurs in nature, I would conclude that this is a reasonable conclusion. The only thing left to complete this idea is the appropriate insect. Because pseudoglomeris magnifica may walk on flat surfaces, a lid that closes tightly is required.
Baking Soda and Sugar Mixture: All cockroach species will consume the poison (baking soda) and perish after being drawn to the food source (sugar).
Unlike most species of cockroaches, they are diurnal and arboreal, with the ability to climb smooth surfaces. After ecdysis, they do not consume their old exoskeleton. These roaches have specialized diets of bee pollen and fruit. Apples and bananas seem to be a favorite.
This species leave their molts on substrate, so the molts do have to be removed. They will not eat their molts. The molts look like little metal pieces and it can be easy to mistake a molt for a deceased roach.
Being an arboreal species, they have an incredibly strong grip and can be hard to pick up once they’ve clung onto something! This species is one of few roach species that exhibits parental behaviors, the females will carry their brood on their underside until the babies have gone through one or two molts (and even after growing the juveniles can often be found hiding beneath the adults).
About a month before the females, the males of Corydidarum magnifica reach sexual maturity while sharing the same living conditions. Fertilization can be done from the same litter because males live a little over a month. Nonetheless, it is sense to maintain a range of developmental stages within the breeding group so that the females, who reach nearly two years of age, can undergo many fertilizations. If the animals are not yet sexually mature, the subgenital plate can be used to identify the sex difference.
The plate beneath the genitalia is known as the subgenital plate. A female always has a large segment at the tip, while a male has two smaller segments at the tip. Everyone can see the difference after the adult molt because the males are more slender and have wings. However, you don't need to worry about them taking off when you open the terrarium because their wings are just used for gliding.
Even if these cockroaches won't flourish indoors, you can still feel considerably more at rest if you keep them out of your house. They are friendly to us.
