1 lb ground beef (85% lean)
1/3 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 egg
1 tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 tbsp olive oil
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
2 cups beef broth
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp all-purpose flour (optional, for thickening)
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Mix gently until just combined.
Form mixture into 4–6 patties.
Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Sear patties for 3–4 minutes per side until browned.
Remove patties from skillet and set aside.
Add remaining olive oil to the skillet.
Sauté mushrooms and onions until soft and golden, about 5 minutes.
Deglaze pan with beef broth, scraping up browned bits.
Stir in Worcestershire sauce.
(Optional) If using flour, mix it with a little water to form a slurry, then whisk it into the gravy.
Simmer gravy for 5–7 minutes until thickened.
Return patties to skillet, spoon gravy over them, cover, and simmer on low for 10 minutes.
Serve with gravy spooned over patties.
