Chocolate Chip Banana Bread is wonderfully moist and loaded with ripe bananas and melty chocolate chips. It is the perfect balance of banana flavor with the sweetness of chocolate, making it a delightful treat for breakfast, a snack, or dessert.
½ cup unsalted butter (8 tbsp), softened
⅔ cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs, room temperature
3 medium/large bananas (about 1¾ cups mashed)
½ tsp vanilla extract
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
Preheat oven to 350˚F. Butter and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, and beat until smooth.
Mash the bananas with a fork until the consistency of chunky applesauce and add them to the bowl with vanilla extract. Mix until blended.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
Fold in ¾ cup chocolate chips.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle the remaining ¼ cup of chocolate chips on top.
Bake for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
