1 tablespoon olive oil
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon chili powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 package (14 oz) refrigerated pie crusts
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onion for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
Add garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Add ground beef, breaking it up, then stir in cumin, paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned and cooked through.
Remove from heat and stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
On a floured surface, roll out pie crusts and cut into 4-inch circles.
Place a spoonful of beef mixture on each circle, fold over, and seal edges with a fork.
Brush tops with beaten egg.
Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and crisp.
Cool slightly before serving.
