These Mozzarella Stuffed Meatballs are the perfect combination of juicy, tender meatballs with a delicious cheesy surprise in the center. The rich, melty mozzarella takes these meatballs to the next level, creating a gooey, satisfying bite every time. The beef and breadcrumbs come together for a flavorful base, while the garlic and seasoning add depth. You can easily swap the ground beef for turkey or chicken if you're looking for a leaner alternative, or opt for a different cheese like provolone for a unique twist. These meatballs are ideal for a hearty dinner, game day snack, or as a party appetizer.
1 lb ground beef
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup chopped parsley
1 large egg
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
4 oz mozzarella cheese, cut into small cubes
1 tablespoon olive oil (for frying)
Marinara sauce (optional, for serving)
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
Take a small amount of the meat mixture and flatten it in the palm of your hand. Place a cube of mozzarella in the center and then form the meatball around the cheese, sealing it inside.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the meatballs and cook for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown on all sides and cooked through.
(Optional) If desired, heat marinara sauce in a separate pan and serve the meatballs with sauce on top or on the side.
Serve the mozzarella stuffed meatballs warm, and enjoy!
