Ingredients
½ cup butter, softened
¾ cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 large egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
½ cup Dutch-processed cocoa powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
⅔ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
⅓ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips for decoration
Directions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl until creamy.
Add the egg and vanilla extract, and continue mixing until well combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
Stir in the ⅔ cup of chocolate chips, gently folding them into the dough.
Scoop out 8 equally sized cookie dough balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Top each cookie with extra chocolate chips.
Gently flatten each cookie to about 1 inch in thickness.
Bake for 10 minutes, then let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack.
Serve and enjoy your delicious, indulgent cookies!
