1 lb ground beef
4–5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
1 tbsp olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
½ cup beef broth
¼ cup milk (optional)
1 tsp Italian seasoning
½ tsp paprika
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Fresh parsley, for garnish
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Thinly slice the potatoes to ¼-inch thickness.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onions and garlic until fragrant.
Add ground beef, season with Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper, and cook until browned.
Grease a baking dish. Layer half of the potatoes, then half the beef, and half the cheddar cheese.
Repeat with remaining potatoes, beef, and cheddar.
Pour beef broth (and milk, if using) evenly over the top.
Cover with foil and bake for 35–40 minutes.
Remove foil, top with Parmesan cheese, and bake uncovered for 10 more minutes until golden brown.
Let rest 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley.
