En la noche del 1 al 2 de enero de 2018 la Knéset aprueba una modificación de esta Ley básica por la que (1) se autoriza al gobierno a segregar algunas villas mayoritariamente árabes hoy unidas a Jerusalén y (2) se requiere una mayoría de 3/5 del parlamento israelí para ceder la soberanía sobre cualquier territorio del municipio de Jerusalén.

La mayor parte de esta Ley fue derogada con efectos el 1 feb 2000 por la nueva Companies Law de 1999, pero conforme a la sección 367 de ésta, se mantienen en vigor ciertas partes de aquélla.
The Companies Ordinance (New Version) 5743-1983, requires that a public corporation must have on its board of directors at least two directors representing the public at large, who must be residents of Israel.
The same enactment also requires a foreign company that maintains in Israel a place of business or an office for registration or transfer of shares to register as a foreign company and pay the requisite fees.
Partnership Ordinance (New Version), 5735-1975
The Partnership Ordinance (New Version), 5735-1975 provides that a foreign partnership, i.e. one formed outside Israel, may only carry on business in Israel if it is registered in the Israel register of partnerships. In the case of a limited partnership, registration has to be sanctioned by the Minister of Justice who at his discretion may authorize or refuse registration.

El 1 de enero de 2006 entró en vigor el nuevo régimen fiscal de los trusts en Israel. Entre otras cosas, incluye disposiciones que permiten la creación de Vehículos Propiedad de Trusts (VPT). Los VPT son trusts constituidos en Israel o fuera que son dueños de una "compañía subyacente" (constituida en Israel o fuera) que a su vez hace negocios o posee activos e inversiones por el mundo. Los VPT pueden estar exentos de impuestos en Israel y también de cumplir otras obligaciones informativas sobre sus fuentes de ingresos no israelíes o ganancias patrimoniales si los beneficiarios de las VPT son no residentes en Israel. Sus fuentes de ingresos israelíes se gravan a tipos entre el 20-46%; pero las exenciones se aplican a los depósitos bancarios en divisas así como a los intereses generados por bonos cotizados y las ganancias derivadas de valores israelíes.
La compañía subyacente posee activos para el Trustee del Trust. Y es residente en Israel a efectos fiscales si se ha constituido en Israel. El trustee puede ser residente en Israeli sin que ello afecte a las exenciones a las que tiene derecho la VPT.
¿A quén benefician las VPT? Si quien constituye el trust es no residente en Israel, cualquier puede ser beneficiario del trust, con independencia de donde resida, si se cumplen ciertas condiciones. Si aquél es residente, solo puedeb ser beneficiarios del trust no residentes en Israel, y además deben cumplirse ciertas condiciones. Por ej., Pérez, no residente, constituye un VPT que posee un trust israelí con beneficiarios no residentes y una compañía subyacente israelí. Ésta invierte en una corporación useña 10 MM$ que luego vende por 30MM$: no pagará por gananciales patrimoniales (capital gains) ni en EEUU ni en Israel; no estará sujeta a impuestos sobre el patrimonio, ni en EEUU ni en Israel; no tendrá que declarar en Israel; podrá acceso y acogerse a los tratados para evitar la doble imposición firmados por Israel; tendrá protegidos sus activos; contará con un marco ordenado para gestionar las finanzas personales, pudiendo en su momento transmitir los bienes a la siguiente generación cuando llegue el momento.

En Israel, hay cuatro tipos básicos de entidades sin ánimo de lucro:

En diciembre 2009, se aprobó la modificación 12 a la Ley que le añade un nuevo capítulo: D2 - Merger (articles 34e-34i). Hsta entonces 2 o más asociaciones no podían fusionarse; si querían hacerlo una debía disolverse, solicitar autorización judicial para ceder sus activos a la otra y los socios de la disuelta debían solicitar su incoporporación a la otra. La reforma abre la posibilidad de, por ej., a formar una entidad con todos los activos, derechos y obligaciones de las que se fusionan; además permite la fusión de Asociaciones con Sociedades mercantiles para el bien común.
