Skype Therapy for Anxiety & Depression

Skype Therapy Online with a Skype Therapist

The primary focus of Mindfulness Therapy is to treat the root psychological cause of your anxiety, depression, OCD, addiction, stress, PTSD and emotional trauma and other forms of emotional suffering rather than just trying to manage symptoms through medication.

Almost everyone who seeks my help has already tried medication or conventional counseling and are definitely looking for an alternative approach, a more holistic approach that focuses on healing rather than just trying to reduce symptoms. We want to be FREE from anxiety and depression, not just endlessly try to manage symptoms.

Everyone that I have worked with really benefits from the Mindfulness Therapy approach that I teach for healing emotional suffering…

"Having visited with many-a-therapist in the past, Dr. Strong stands out as a genuinely good listener and offers pointed and intuitive responses in return, that are real, constructive, and compassionate. His caring, non-judgmental, nature is apparent and has aided me in the healing process.”

Skype Therapy for recovering from chronic anxiety and depression

Welcome. My name is Peter Strong. I'm a professional psychotherapist specializing in online mindfulness therapy. So a lot of people are looking for Skype therapy for anxiety and depression. Skype Therapy is a very effective and very convenient way of getting the help that you need to overcome your anxiety or depression. I offer a Skype Therapy, and have done so for over ten years now, in which I specifically teach mindfulness therapy for help with anxiety and depression and also addictions and many of the common psychological problems that cause emotional suffering.

So if you'd like to get started with Skype Therapy with me then simply e-mail me. Tell me more about yourself and what's happening for you emotionally and I'll be happy to explain to you how we can work on reducing the level of emotional suffering that you're experiencing by using the methods of mindfulness therapy.

I will teach you specifically how to apply mindfulness yourself for working with your emotions. This greatly increases the effectiveness of this approach. So we will work on your anxiety or depression during sessions using mindfulness but you will be able to continue that work between sessions. This means that you will see results much quicker than in conventional talk therapy.

We work at a very practical level really learning how to work with our thoughts and with our emotions more effectively. We have to learn how to break free from that habit of becoming overwhelmed by reactive thinking or becoming a prisoner of our learned emotional reactions.

Anxiety and Depression are best thought of as being habits. They are learned habits. We acquire these habits and then we become a prisoner of them. So mindfulness therapy is a way of learning how to break free from these habits and how to neutralize them.

So all habits thrive on unawareness, they operate unconsciously, and in mindfulness therapy we employ more consciousness. We learn how to bring conscious awareness to these habits and that's one of the first principles for breaking out of any kind of habit is to make them more conscious, to bring consciousness to them. And the way we do that is by actually learning to meditate on our anxiety or depression or other emotions. This is a way of bringing that consciousness to them that will eventually break the habit.

We learn to observe our reactive thoughts as well. Reactive thoughts effectively feeds anxiety and depression and when they are operating unconsciously they provide a continuous source of fuel. So we need to see these patterns of reactive thinking very clearly and we need to change our relationship to them so that they don't overwhelm us, they don't take away our choice, they don't control us.

So we meditate on our thoughts. This way we become the observer of those thoughts. Being the observer stops us becoming identified with the thoughts. So that process of reactive identification is the main problem. It Is the way that we simply become overwhelmed and identified with conditioned emotional reactions and thoughts. So we learn to break free from that by developing more consciousness. That is the first training in mindfulness therapy.

The second is learning to change the emotion itself, learning to heal that anxiety or depression. So healing is a very big part of mindfulness therapy. There are many aspects to the healing process but the most important is developing this conscious and caring relationship that is so much a part of mindfulness training with your emotions. We learn to develop compassion towards your anxiety or depression. We learn to develop compassion towards your emotional pain. This is an essential part of the healing process. The biggest problem for most people is that the anxiety or depression becomes isolated, they become disconnected from the emotional pain. And when that emotional pain is disconnected or abandoned or neglected then it cannot heal.

If you'd like to learn more about the mindfulness approach for healing anxiety and depression please contact me. This approach is very effective. People usually see quite big changes after the first few sessions with me.

Skype Therapy -The Benefits of Online Therapy

Traditional counseling can be helpful, but often common talk therapy does not transform the habitual psychological process that is the real cause of your anxiety and depression.

The same can be said for medications - the prescription medications may reduce symptoms for a while, but medications are not going to transform the underlying psychological process that causes the anxiety or depression.

The school of psychotherapy that I provide is called Mindfulness Therapy, which can be extremely effective for controlling chronic anxiety and for treating depression and other psychological issues resulting from conditioned negative thinking. Most people notice quite significant changes after 3-4 sessions of Mindfulness Therapy.

Skype therapy is a very convenient option if you are living abroad or if you are living in an area where it is difficult to find a psychotherapist to work with, if its a rural area or if you are living in a foreign country. It may be difficult to find a local therapist.

Also, a lot of people are looking for alternative to the traditional medical approach to psychotherapy. A lot of people are looking for newer styles of psychotherapy such as CBT or Mindfulness Therapy, which is what I offer online. It's about really learning how to take charge of your own emotional well-being, by learning practical, effective skills and methods for overcoming tour anxiety or depression or other emotional suffering that is affecting the quality of your life or relationships.

The mindfulness techniques that I teach and offer online in these counseling sessions is particularly effective for overcoming anxiety.

When I talk to people in this position, it becomes immediately clear that even though they have done all this work on their anxiety or panic attacks, they have never actually looked at the mechanism that produces that anxiety - the underlying emotional reactivity and how that works.

It is really important to actually look and see how the anxiety works, and this is one of the characteristics of Mindfulness Therapy. Rather than talking about your anxiety or your family history or trying to uncover repressed memories or other potential trigger points for your anxiety.

We really examine the mechanism of how it operates right now, because that is what you can change. You can change the actual structure of the emotional reaction itself through mindfulness. This often involves looking at the imagery of the emotion. This is quite an interesting area for most people.

All emotions are based around psychological imagery that forms in the mind. That imagery essentially is an organizing principle that holds that emotional energy together and creates an emotion like anxiety or depression or anger. They will all have different imagery.

During Mindfulness Therapy we take great interest in uncovering this imagery. We look at it by focusing on the emotions themselves, directly, to see what is there. So, this very direct approach is a characteristic of mindfulness, and Mindfulness Therapy as I teach it and have developed over many years now, really focuses on helping you change the imagery of the emotion, because when you change that, you change the emotion quite significantly. The imagery is an absolute requirement for an emotion. If you change the imagery you change the emotion. So, that is one aspect of Mindfulness Therapy.

Online psychotherapy is becoming more and more popular both because of the obvious convenience of online therapy or counseling sessions, but also because this represents a new approach to helping you manage common emotional problems such as anxiety and depression or OCD or PTSD or any other form of emotional stress.

The approach that I teach is based on Mindfulness Therapy, which really focuses on helping you change the emotional patterns of habitual reactivity that cause anxiety and depression. These reactive patterns become established, often in childhood, and they stay with us through most of our life until we begin to develop much more consciousness of these underlying, essentially, unconscious habits. People are not used to challenging these habits, they think that they are natural and unchangeable, but all habits can be changed, including the emotional habits of anxiety and depression.

The key is to start to focus conscious awareness on those habits. Habits rely on unconsciousness, they thrive when we do not look at them, when they are allowed to simply proliferate unconsciously. But the moment you start to focus conscious awareness on habits, then they begin to change and begin to lose their momentum. So, the whole focus of Mindfulness Therapy is to apply conscious awareness to your emotional habits. This is by far the most direct way to transform anxiety and depression or other forms of emotional suffering.

You have to start changing the anxiety itself, and one of the most important things that we learn during mindfulness therapy of anxiety or depression is what really causes that emotional suffering are not thoughts but emotional imagery. How we see the thoughts or beliefs in the mind is what gives them power and what makes them real for us.

So, one of the central things we do during our therapy sessions together is explore the imagery of the emotions and making that imagery conscious, because when we can see how the imagery works then we can begin to change it, we can change the emotional imagery, and when you change that imagery you end up changing the emotion itself.

So this is what we explore during Mindfulness Therapy. We start to dissect the emotional imagery and then start exploring changing it in a very practical, direct way. This provides one of the most effective ways to actually change the intensity of our emotions.

So, if you would like to learn more about emotional imagery and how to change anxiety and depression by changing its imagery, go to my website and then if you would like to schedule a session with me, simply email me.

I work with people throughout the United States, North America, beyond to Europe, the UK, the Middle East, and as far away as Australia. So, as long as you have good internet connection then it is possible for us to have a Skype therapy session.

So, please simply email me, tell me more about yourself, what you have tried to date, and then I will be happy to explain to you more about how Mindfulness Therapy can work, and then we can schedule a trial session so you can see for yourself the immense effectiveness of using image reprocessing for changing emotions. Thank you!
