This approach is extremely effective and you will experience tangible results after the first 2-3 online sessions with me.

Online Mindfulness Therapy is highly effective for stopping anxiety and depression without using anti-anxiety medications and antidepressants. It is always better to treat the underlying cause of your emotional pain rather than just treating symptoms.

The main healing factors cultivated during Mindfulness Therapy are Consciousness, which is vital for neutralizing the psychological habits that cause emotional suffering, and Inner Compassion, which is what allows healing and resolution of emotional suffering.

Everyone that I have worked with really enjoys the mindfulness approach that I teach for healing emotional suffering…

"I came across Dr. Peter Strong’s website when I was doing some research on the benefits of mindfulness for anxiety. I am so happy I took the next step and contacted him. I always looked forward to each session, he made my day lighter, made me feel stronger and happier."

Mindfulness-based Skype Counseling

Traditional counseling can be beneficial, but often common talk therapy does not transform the underlying structure that creates your depression or anxiety.

This also applies to the use of medications - anti-anxiety medication may reduce symptoms for a while, but medications are not able to heal the underlying psychological process that produces your emotional pain.

The school of psychotherapy that I teach online is called Mindfulness Therapy, which is very successful for managing chronic anxiety as well as for treating chronic depression and other psychological issues caused by conditioned reactive thinking.

Most people see quite substantial changes after 3-4 sessions of Mindfulness Therapy.

Skype counseling therapy provides an extremely good way to get help for anxiety and depression or for help recovering from an addiction. Whatever the nature of the emotional problem that you are struggling with, you will benefit from the mindfulness-based techniques and approaches that I teach. Email me to book a session.

Welcome. My name is Peter Strong. I am a professional psychotherapist and I offer Skype counseling therapy sessions for the treatment of anxiety and depression and addictions and other common psychological and emotional problems that benefit from the techniques of mindfulness therapy.

So mindfulness therapy is a very effective way of working with anxiety and depression particularly, because it helps you break free from those patterns of habitual reactive thinking and habitual emotional reactivity that feeds anxiety and depression. Addiction, of course, can be described as a behavioral reaction based on anxiety or depression. So it's really important to work with these core emotions that can be quite devastating if they're not properly managed.

You don't need medications to manage anxiety and depression. You're much better off changing the underlying habits that are creating your anxiety and depression. These patterns of reactive thinking.

So during mindfulness therapy we learn to develop conscious attention to see these patterns of reactive thinking. We identify the reactive thoughts and then we build a relationship with those thoughts that's based on conscious awareness. It's essential to overcome the habitual aspect of reactive thinking.

The habitual aspect of reactive thinking is based on unawareness, not seeing those thoughts clearly. And this is why we feel so much a victim of reactive thoughts. You feel a prisoner of our anxiety and depression because this habitual process is controlling us and is doing so without our choice and awareness.

So building choice is all about building that awareness and conscious relationship towards those thoughts themselves. And we do this, surprisingly, by learning how to meditate on those thoughts and of course on the emotions underneath the thoughts. We bring them deliberately into awareness. But we approach them consciously and that's quite different than simply reacting.

When you bring them into consciousness in this way then you begin to restore choice and you can begin to change those thought patterns, you can heal the underlying emotions and you can minimize the effect of those reactive thoughts. So this is the basis of mindfulness therapy. It's all about changing the relationship you have to the mind: thoughts, emotions, memories and beliefs.

You can think about reactive thoughts and the emotions as being like a fire. Now a fire can burn you of course, but it can only burn you if you have an inappropriate and unconscious relationship to that fire. If you just stumble into the fire then it will burn you.

But once you've built a conscious relationship with a fire then you're able to adjust your position. That's the element of choice that always comes with consciousness. Being able to adjust your relationship to the fire means that the fire can no longer cause you suffering. It cannot burn you at all because you can always adjust your position and it's very much the same with our emotions. They are like fire. If we have an unconscious reactive habitual relationship to them then they will burn us. They will cause suffering. But once we develop a conscious relationship then that effectively neutralizes them. They cannot hurt us when we have a conscious relationship with them.

The other aspect to Mindfulness Therapy is about helping unresolved emotions, which is what anxiety and depression really are, to heal. We help them heal, which becomes possible as one of those choices, once we have this conscious mindful relationship with our emotions.

Hate is based on reactivity. Love is based on consciousness, non-reactivity. Love is much stronger than hate and this is why it is so effective for promoting healing.
