To overcome an eating disorder you will need to work on healing the underlying emotional pain that is feeding the eating disorder. This is usually experienced as an inner emptiness or feeling of helplessness or other form of depression. The behavioral reaction of binge eating can be viewed as an attempt to fill this inner void or an attempt to comfort your inner pain. Of course, the relief gained by eating is short-lived and not capable of filling that void or healing that inner pain, which in turn feeds the feelings of helplessness and leads to compulsive overeating.

Mindfulness Therapy teaches you how to work with your emotions directly to facilitate inner healing by building a strong relationship based on conscious awareness and compassion (mindfulness) with your emotions.

This is quite different than conventional “talk therapy” where you talk about your feelings, but is more akin to building a friendship where you cultivate a relationship by being present with your friend.

The emphasis is on “being present” and in food addiction and other forms of addiction this inner friendship is completely absent. Re-establishing this inner relationship with your emotions is key to healing and is essential for breaking the addiction cycle.

This approach is particularly effective and most people notice tangible recovery after 3-4 sessions with me.

Online Mindfulness-based Skype Therapy is very effective for stopping anxiety and depression without the need for medications. Treat the root cause of your psychological suffering as opposed to just suppressing symptoms.

Everyone that I have worked with really benefits from the Mindfulness Therapy approach that I teach for healing emotional suffering…

"I would recommend him unconditionally. The process can be painful, but the pain resolves fairly rapidly and morphs into a sense of freedom, centeredness and wholeness."

Online Therapist for Binge Eating Disorder - Mindfulness Therapy Online

I specialize in Mindfulness Therapy for treating anxiety, depression and addictions. The central focus of this form of psychotherapy is to restore your freedom from compulsive and obsessive thinking through the application of mindfulness. Mindfulness is a form of awareness training that incorporates focused conscious awareness and acceptance-compassion. These are the two most important mental qualities required to break free from an addiction or compulsion. Conscious awareness and conscious acceptance are also absolutely essential for healing and transforming the underlying anxiety and depression that fuels the addiction and binge eating.

Welcome. My name is Peter Strong and I am a professional online therapist. I provide online counseling via Skype for the treatment of anxiety, depression, stress; also for the treatment of food addictions including Binge Eating Disorder.

So, as an online therapist I will try to help you overcome those patterns of habitual reactive thinking that cause the behavior of binge eating or other food addiction. That's the most important first step, to identify these patterns of reactive thinking and the emotional impulses that power those thoughts. and we start to develop a mindful relationship with these imposes that allows us to break free from the habit of simply acting them out through binge eating.

So, learning this form of emotional regulation is very important, but it's not the only part of Mindfulness Therapy. In order to successfully break free from food addiction and binge eating disorder you must also look at the underlying core emotions themselves that create the need for food addiction and this means looking at the underlying anxiety or depression or other emotions that are fueling the whole process.

The emotional impulses are fueled by these underlying core emotions and these must be changed and healed, and this is what we do during the online therapy sessions. We learn how to actually mediate on these core emotions as well as the emotional impulses. This means that we learn how to establish a non-reactive relationship with these emotions based on awareness and acceptance, the two most important things required for healing and transformation of emotional problems. Of course, most of us our lost in patterns of habitual reactivity that are based on avoidance and resistance, and these are your greatest enemies: avoidance and resistance.

Mindfulness Therapy attempts to completely break free of these habits of avoidance and resistance by cultivating their opposite which is conscious awareness and conscious acceptance.

So, if you would like to learn more about online therapy for binge eating disorder or food addiction, plea visit my website and send me an email and then we can schedule an online therapy session. Thank you!
