Please feel free to email me to learn more about online therapy via Skype with me.

Everyone that I have worked with really enjoys the mindfulness approach that I teach for healing emotional suffering…

"I had been stuck in another bout of intense generalized anxiety for several months when I found Peter. His website states that people experience significant results after 3-4 sessions. Well, after just 2 sessions I was 80% back to normal."

During these sessions I will teach you mindfulness-based methods for promoting recovery from all forms of anxiety disorders, including Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Social Anxiety Disorder, OCD, depression, and for help with and other emotional problems, by applying the very successful techniques of Mindfulness Meditation Therapy.

This approach is extremely effective and most clients experience significant improvements after 3-4 online sessions with me.

Online Mindfulness-based Skype Therapy is highly effective for controlling anxiety and depression without using anti-anxiety medications and antidepressants. It is always better to treat the underlying cause of your emotional suffering instead of just managing symptoms.

Are you looking for an online therapist for anxiety? If so, you should visit my online therapy site and book a Skype session with me. I teach Mindfulness Therapy, which is probably the most effective treatment for chronic anxiety and panic attacks currently available. Mindfulness Therapy takes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to a much higher level by incorporating mindfulness methods for building the right kind of relationship with your anxiety and other emotions - one based on consciousness and friendliness instead of the usual fear-based avoidance and aversion-resistance.

Online Psychotherapist for Anxiety

Welcome! My name is Peter Strong and I am a professional online therapist, teacher and author. I specialize in online therapy for anxiety, and if you want to talk to an online therapist for help overcoming anxiety, do please contact me through my website.

Working with an online therapist for anxiety is a very good choice, especially if the therapist employs some form of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Mindfulness Therapy. I specialize in Mindfulness Therapy, which teaches you how to fundamentally change your relationship with your emotions.

The biggest problem that most people with anxiety struggle with is how to maintain a relationship with their anxiety and not become overwhelmed by the anxiety or other emotions. This problem we call emotional contraction and all it is at the end of the day is a habit. It is a learned habit that usually gets started in childhood, because the child does not know how to process intense emotions such as fear or anxiety or panic. So, what happens is they tend to contract, psychologically, and try to avoid the emotions. So we get patterns of avoidance and patterns further psychological reactivity to the emotion, and then the anxiety becomes stuck, effectively, unable to continue its process of resolution and healing.

So, the most important thing to reverse this emotional contraction is to establish a conscious relationship with your emotions where you are clearly conscious as an observer, witnessing the emotion, giving it, essentially, psychological space in which to exist AND in which to change.

When you are able to sit with your anxiety or panic without feeding it with further reactivity, avoidance and other forms of psychological conditioning that basically takes your consciousness away from the anxiety. Until you can establish a conscious relationship with your anxiety it cannot change.

So, that is a fundamental principle in Mindfulness Therapy. Change becomes possible the moment you establish a conscious and friendly relationship with your anxiety or other emotions, and that is what I will teach you during the online therapy sessions.

So, if you would like to talk to an online therapist for help with anxiety, do please contact me and we can schedule a Skype therapy session for treating your anxiety.

Online Mindfulness Psychotherapist for Managing Anxiety Disorder and Panic Attacks without using medications

Welcome! My name is Peter Strong. I'm a professional psychotherapist offering online therapy for anxiety and depression and other common emotional problems that respond well to online mindfulness therapy, which is what I specialize in and find to be most effective for helping you overcome anxiety and depression and other common emotional suffering.

So if you're looking for an online therapist to help you overcome anxiety and to provide relief from chronic anxiety then I invite you to go to my website and learn more about the mindfulness-based approach for overcoming anxiety. It's very effective. Most people see quite dramatic changes within the first three or four sessions, once you start applying the mindfulness-based methods that I will be teaching you during these Skype therapy sessions.

So the very first thing that we have to understand is that anxiety is best seen as a habit process rather than a disorder. It's better to look at the underlying psychological habit that is causing your anxiety rather than just treating it with medications, because just covering up the symptoms is not going to change anything at the psychological level. So if you want real relief from anxiety you have to work on changing that underlying habitual process that is creating your anxiety.

So most people notice that when they start to examine the structure of their anxiety and this underlying habitual process that they begin to see changes very quickly. The very first thing we need to do is change our relationship to our emotions. We must change our relationship from one of fear and hatred and reactivity to one of consciousness and even friendliness.

It is really important, actually, to develop a friendly and compassionate relationship with your emotions if you want them to heal. If you want to get real relief from anxiety then you must make friends with that anxiety.

Acceptance is really important, but not just blind acceptance, not just tolerating your emotions, but rather helping them heal. So the function of mindfulness therapy is seeing your emotions clearly, establishing a compassionate relationship with your emotions, and then helping them heal.

And one of the most important ways that we can help heal anxiety is by developing a non-reactive relationship with that anxiety. When you can sit with your anxiety, observe it without reactivity, then that will allow the anxiety to begin to change itself. The problem is that we tend to react to our anxiety and this reactivity has the effect of feeding the anxiety. The best analogy here is to think of the anxiety as being like a fire and the reactivity is the fuel that feeds that fire.

So when you become lost in reactive thinking and rumination and other forms of reactivity towards your anxiety, it simply feeds the fire. But once you stop reacting to it then you provide a healing environment. It's taking the fuel away from the fire. And when you do that the anxiety will begin to heal itself in that space that you've provided for it.

So mindfulness is about embracing our emotions and giving them a space in which to heal. And it's quite surprising to some people, but the fact is that they will heal your anxiety will heal itself if you allow it to heal. That means with without becoming reactive towards it.

So anxiety is a habit and the anxiety that is causing you problems is not healing because you're not building a compassionate, friendly and conscious relationship with it. That is what I find, over and over again, is the real issue.

So if you would like help in learning how to change your relationship with your anxiety or other emotions and help promote this natural inner healing process, then please do contact me and we can schedule an online therapy session.

So mindfulness therapy is one of the very best ways of promoting healing of emotions. It has some elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy in it, but it's much more focused on healing the emotions directly through changing our relationship to them. When the emotions heal then the reactive thinking heals also, and that begins to subside. So this I find to be a better way of approaching anxiety. Work on healing the emotion directly rather than just focusing on trying to change your thought patterns.

So please contact me and let's schedule a therapy session so you can learn how to overcome your anxiety and get relief from anxiety. Thank you.

Online Psychotherapy for Anxiety by Skype

Welcome. My name is Peter Strong. I'm a professional psychotherapist based in Boulder Colorado and I offer online psychotherapy for anxiety via Skype.

So if you're interested in learning more about online therapy for treating anxiety disorders, whether that's generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, or if you have a problem with recurrent panic attacks, or if you suffer from driving anxiety disorder or a phobia in general, then please go to my website and learn more about this online psychotherapy service that I offer.

If you're interested in online psychotherapy you should check that the therapist is able to provide sessions via Skype. I believe it's essential that you are able to see each other as well as speak to each other, because this greatly improves the effectiveness of communication. And that's a very important fact when you're working with difficult emotional conditions like anxiety and panic attacks or depression, or even for work with addiction.

Many people like online therapy because it's clearly more convenient. And if you're living abroad or in a rural area you might find it difficult to find a local therapist that you want to work with.

People like the greater privacy also offered by online psychotherapy. It means that you can conduct your sessions from home and in the privacy of your own environment. And that's quite important for a lot of people. Sometimes we feel uncomfortable talking about our emotional problems. If it's an addiction it's often very difficult to talk about that in a more public setting. Being able to talk about your anxiety online is much less intimidating for most people. So that's one of one of the additional benefits of online therapy via Skype.

The style of psychotherapy that I offer online is called mindfulness therapy and this is a particular approach that I developed many years ago now that has proven to be incredibly effective for helping people manage anxiety disorders.

It's a technique that uses mindfulness. Mindfulness is simply a way of focusing conscious attention on emotions and on thoughts and memories and other components of the mind. It's a way of becoming conscious without becoming overwhelmed or consumed or lost in anxiety or depression or any other emotional formation.

We have to build a conscious relationship with our emotions. That is an absolute requirement for them to change, in my opinion. Talking about your anxiety can provide temporary relief but it's seldom as good as actually building an internal relationship with your anxiety in which you spend more time, if you like, listening to it rather than reacting to it or trying to explain it away or trying to understand it. All of these forms of cognitive processing are really taking you away from the emotion itself.

We create a safe space around our anxiety and we begin to explore how that anxiety works. One of the most important things we first focus on is the constellation of reactive thoughts that feeds that anxiety.

So anxiety tends to lead to proliferation of anxiety-based thinking. And this in turn feeds the underlying anxiety and creates this vicious feedback loop that stops the anxiety healing. So the first part of mindfulness is all about learning to see these reactive thoughts and breaking the unconscious habits of becoming lost in those thoughts. So we're not indulging the anxiety. Instead with simply creating a conscious and non-reactive relationship with it.

The second thing that we focus on in great detail during Mindfulness Therapy is looking at the internal imagery of the emotion. And this might be a new concept to you, but if you think about it you will begin to realize that all emotions are based around imagery.

So if you'd like to learn more about online psychotherapy via Skype for your anxiety do please email me and tell me more about how I can help you. And then when you feel ready we can schedule a session.

You will see in the very first session just how powerful this approach can be and most people see changes after the very first session, when you start applying the mindfulness methods that I'll teach you on how to work with your anxiety.

So please contact me if you'd like to get started.

How to overcome anxiety without the need for anti-anxiety medications

Welcome. My name is Peter Strong and I provide online therapy for generalized anxiety disorder as well as other anxiety disorders.

And this online therapy service is available via Skype worldwide. All you need is a good internet connection and PayPal to make secure online payments for your sessions and you can schedule online therapy for your anxiety with me.

The approach that I use is called Mindfulness Therapy, which is very, very effective indeed for working with anxiety and particularly working with the incessant worrying and catastrophizing and repetitive thoughts that constitutes generalized anxiety disorder.

So the real problem here is that we tend to become lost in these thoughts, we become identified with the anxiety and that causes us to become controlled by these thoughts, and they tend to proliferate and feed that underlying anxiety.

Now Mindfulness Therapy, the training that I will give you during our online therapy sessions, will teach you how to change your relationship to your thoughts so that you can regain control.

This is the most important thing to understand: it is not the thoughts themselves that cause anxiety, it's your relationship to those thoughts. And when we have an anxiety disorder like generalized anxiety disorder we tend to become blindly identified with these thoughts.

But with mindfulness training you will learn to re-establish yourself as the Observer of these thoughts instead of becoming swept away by them.

When you can establish an objective relationship with thoughts then you basically stop that process that feeds the anxiety and feeds the proliferation of more worried thoughts or intrusive thoughts.

So we do this by actually learning how to apply mindfulness meditation to meditate on our thoughts and the underlying anxiety that is fueling those thoughts.

We don't try to stop the thoughts, we don't try to make them go away, we don't argue with them, and it doesn't matter whether the thoughts are rational or irrational. It doesn't matter what the thought is.

All that matters is to change the relationship that you have so that you can see these thoughts but not be affected by them. And one of the best ways is to actually invite those worry thoughts or intrusive thoughts into the mind, but with the express purpose of learning how to develop this mindfulness-based relationship with those thoughts.

So thoughts by themselves are not the problem. It's our relationship to them that is the problem. When you have an objective relationship then the thoughts become really no different than any other objects that arise and pass away in our field of consciousness.

But when you become identified with the thoughts then that prevents them from resolving themselves and they tend to persist and proliferate because of that identification.

With using mindfulness and practicing the methods that I will teach, you can expect to see significant reduction in the intensity of your anxiety episodes within usually three to four weeks.

I meet with you once a week and we learn how to apply mindfulness to work with intrusive thoughts during the session and we refine that process in each subsequent session until you have the tools to actually apply yourself to neutralize the reactive thinking and prevent the anxiety from feeding, essentially.

There are some other techniques we teach as well that work extremely well for all kinds of anxiety disorders, and I will teach you those as well during our online therapy sessions.

So, if you are looking to make real changes and you prefer not to rely on medications, which of course do nothing to change the underlying psychological habit that creates anxiety, do please contact me and we can schedule a therapy session at a time that works for the both of us.
