If you are suffering from anxiety or agoraphobia, or if you have a fear of driving, then the possibility of having online therapy over Skype becomes very attractive, indeed. And, since Skype allows you to see each other as well as talk to each other in real-time, there is really no difference in the effectiveness of online therapy compared to traditional in-the-office therapy.

These approaches are rather different than conventional talk therapy and they help you actually change the underlying process, that habitual process that creates your anxiety, and this is something that conventional talk therapy or counseling is really not equipped to do. But, cognitive therapy or mindfulness therapy is extremely effective for helping you change those underlying patterns that create your anxiety.

Medications may provide temporary relief from symptoms, but, of course, medications and antidepressants will do nothing to change the underlying psychological process that creates your anxiety or depression.
