Standard talk therapy can be beneficial, but often it does not look at the the underlying process that creates your emotional suffering.

Skype therapy is a very effective way of learning the mindfulness-based techniques that I specialize in for overcoming the habitual processes that create anxiety and depression.


During the online therapy sessions, I will teach you how to apply mindfulness to overcome and heal anxiety and depression so that you don't continue to suffer from these habitual patterns of emotional reactivity.


It is much easier than you may think. It doesn't take much time to really master these techniques and if you practice them diligently every day, then you will see tremendous changes and tremendous reduction in the level and the intensity of your anxiety or depression, within weeks.


The key to Mindfulness Therapy, which is the style of psychotherapy that I teach online over Skype, is to learn to change the way you relate to your emotions. You have to stop those negative patterns of avoidance and aversion to your anxiety or depression.


This is critical. If you try to escape from your painful emotions then they simply are not able to heal. You have to establish a conscious relationship with them in the present that is based on developing conscious awareness and a quality of friendliness, opening the mind and heart to receive your anxiety and depression like a guest in your house.


Of course, our biological conditioning tells us otherwise - it will try to make us avoid or run away from our emotions - but this is the most dangerous thing you can do. If you continue to avoid or resist unresolved emotional suffering like anxiety or depression, then those emotions will simply grow stronger.


However, if you develop the mindfulness strategies that I teach for actually sitting with your emotions and facing them directly with openness of mind and openness of heart, then you will be creating the ideal conditions in which those emotions will heal.


So, that is one of the most important things that we explore during these online therapy sessions.
