Skype therapy - Effective Psychotherapy for Overcoming Anxiety from Home

The primary focus of Mindfulness Therapy is to treat the underlying psychological cause of your anxiety, depression, OCD, addiction, stress, PTSD and emotional trauma and other forms of emotional suffering rather than just trying to manage symptoms through medication.

Almost everyone who seeks my help has already tried medication or conventional counseling and are definitely looking for an alternative approach, a more holistic approach that focuses on healing rather than just trying to reduce symptoms. We want to be FREE from anxiety and depression, not just endlessly try to manage symptoms.

Everyone that I have worked with really enjoys the Mindfulness Therapy approach that I teach for healing emotional suffering…

"I found Peter’s website serendipitously and I can honestly say that I have had excellent results in six sessions utilizing Peter’s approach which, while based in the teachings of the Buddha, are fully compatible with any religion or philosophy."

How to start Skype Therapy for Help with Anxiety & Depression

Contact me via email to schedule a Skype therapy session.

Welcome. My name is Peter Strong and I'm a professional psychotherapist specializing in Mindfulness Therapy which I offer online over Skype.

So if you would like to learn how to start Skype Therapy to help you overcome your anxiety or depression or other emotional problems then please reach out to me by e-mail. Tell me more about yourself and how I can help you and I'll be happy to answer any questions you have about Skype Therapy.

People like online therapy in general because it's so much more convenient. It means you can organize your sessions from home. You don't have to leave home to go to a therapist's office, and this can be very beneficial.

So I see lots of people who suffer from agoraphobia, and I also see quite a few people who suffer from driving phobia and difficulty with driving in general. But I also have quite a few clients such as stay at home mums or the elderly or people who generally find it difficult to leave home for whatever reason.

So online therapy has a lot of great advantages. And as long as you use Skype or similar video format then the Skype Therapy sessions are really no different than talking with a therapist in person. It's really important that you can see each other. That makes the communication more effective and equivalent to meeting in person.

Another reason why people like Skype Therapy is because it feels more comfortable in general. It is far less intimidating than going to a clinic or a therapist's office.

It's also more private too and that's another feature that many people like. When you're dealing with difficult emotional problems, or maybe an addiction, it's often difficult to talk about this in public. It's easier for you to talk in private, and of course talking to to me through Skype offers you that degree of privacy.

So if you would like to learn more about Skype Therapy and the Mindfulness Therapy approach that I specialize in, do please email me.

All you need to start Skype Therapy is a laptop, tablet or even an iPhone, which has her Skype installed on it, and you need a reasonably good internet connection, which is usually not a problem these days. And you need a quiet place in which to conduct your therapy sessions.

So during the Skype Therapy sessions I will teach you how to work with your emotions using mindfulness. Now you may have heard about mindfulness. It's a very very interesting area. It's been around many hundreds of years, of course, and traces back to the teachings of the Buddha. But now we are discovering how to apply mindfulness in overcoming emotional suffering. And it works extremely well when working with anxiety or depression or for managing the painful and compulsive emotions that are associated with an addiction.

I have also developed a number of mindfulness-based techniques for working with PTSD that are proving very successful indeed. These include techniques like mindfulness-based imagery reprocessing, where you can effectively decrease the intensity of a flashback memory by changing the way that you see that scene in the mind.

So working with imagery is actually a very important part of working with emotions in general. Even anxiety and depression has associated internal imagery and this is why we often feel overwhelmed when we are struggling with chronic anxiety or depression. Literally, that's because the emotion is very large and we see it above us in our internal imagery. That's why we use that term, "feeling overwhelmed.".

Another part of Mindfulness Therapy has to do with trying to change your relationship to your emotions and thoughts as well. This is very important because our habit is to become completely lost in our emotions or thoughts. We become identified with them and when you become identified with them then this leads to emotional suffering.

So if you'd like to learn more please email me and schedule a Skype Therapy session. Thank you.

Skype Therapy -The Benefits of Online Therapy

Traditional counseling can be helpful, but often common talk therapy does not transform the habitual psychological process that is the real cause of your anxiety and depression.

The same can be said for medications - the prescription medications may reduce symptoms for a while, but medications are not going to transform the underlying psychological process that causes the anxiety or depression.

The school of psychotherapy that I provide is called Mindfulness Therapy, which can be extremely effective for controlling chronic anxiety and for treating depression and other psychological issues resulting from conditioned negative thinking. Most people notice quite significant changes after 3-4 sessions of Mindfulness Therapy.

Skype therapy is a very convenient option if you are living abroad or if you are living in an area where it is difficult to find a psychotherapist to work with, if its a rural area or if you are living in a foreign country. It may be difficult to find a local therapist.

Also, a lot of people are looking for alternative to the traditional medical approach to psychotherapy. A lot of people are looking for newer styles of psychotherapy such as CBT or Mindfulness Therapy, which is what I offer online. It's about really learning how to take charge of your own emotional well-being, by learning practical, effective skills and methods for overcoming tour anxiety or depression or other emotional suffering that is affecting the quality of your life or relationships.

The mindfulness techniques that I teach and offer online in these counseling sessions is particularly effective for overcoming anxiety.

When I talk to people in this position, it becomes immediately clear that even though they have done all this work on their anxiety or panic attacks, they have never actually looked at the mechanism that produces that anxiety - the underlying emotional reactivity and how that works.

It is really important to actually look and see how the anxiety works, and this is one of the characteristics of Mindfulness Therapy. Rather than talking about your anxiety or your family history or trying to uncover repressed memories or other potential trigger points for your anxiety.

We really examine the mechanism of how it operates right now, because that is what you can change. You can change the actual structure of the emotional reaction itself through mindfulness. This often involves looking at the imagery of the emotion. This is quite an interesting area for most people.

All emotions are based around psychological imagery that forms in the mind. That imagery essentially is an organizing principle that holds that emotional energy together and creates an emotion like anxiety or depression or anger. They will all have different imagery.

During Mindfulness Therapy we take great interest in uncovering this imagery. We look at it by focusing on the emotions themselves, directly, to see what is there.

So, this very direct approach is a characteristic of mindfulness, and Mindfulness Therapy as I teach it and have developed over many years now, really focuses on helping you change the imagery of the emotion, because when you change that, you change the emotion quite significantly. The imagery is an absolute requirement for an emotion. If you change the imagery you change the emotion. So, that is one aspect of Mindfulness Therapy.

Therapy through Skype is particularly good for learning how to overcome anxiety and depression. I teach Mindfulness Therapy, which is one of the best approaches available for anxiety and which works well online.

Traditional talk therapy can be helpful, but often it does not transform the underlying structure that is the real cause of your anxiety and depression.

This also applies to the use of medications - the drug may provide a temporary relief from symptoms for awhile, but medications will not heal the underlying cause that produces your emotional suffering.

The style of psychotherapy that I provide is known as Mindfulness Therapy, which is very powerful for controlling chronic anxiety as well as for treating chronic depression and other mental difficulties where there exists an inherent process of conditioned reactive thinking.

Welcome!. My name is Peter Strong and I am a professional mindfulness-based online therapist. I provide therapy through Skype for the treatment of anxiety, depression and for help with recovery from addictions, as well.

Therapy through Skype is particularly convenient, of course. It means you don't have to leave home and that is very important if you are suffering from anxiety or agoraphobia or if you have driving example, for example, then it is really difficult to leave home.

So, this therapy through Skype service that I offer is designed to help you get the help that you need from the comfort of your own home. It is also very effective if you are living abroad as well. Then you may prefer some form of therapy over Skype because the local choices are just not suitable. I do have many clients who I work with, living abroad as far away as Singapore, or the Philippines, many in Western Europe of course and in the UK.

People like the online therapy approach. It is just more empowering for you, it is about helping you learn very specific and practical methods to manage anxiety or depression or to recover from an addiction. This is what you really need, much more than just talking about your emotions or trying to mask the symptoms through medications.

The Mindfulness Therapy service that I provide over Skype is really designed to help you change the underlying process of reactive thinking that creates your anxiety or depression. Once you change that, then the symptoms of anxiety and depression diminish, including the physical symptoms in the body, as well.

Skype Therapy – Online Psychotherapy for anxiety and depression by Skype

Welcome. My name is Peter Strong and I am a professional online therapist. I offer Skype therapy for the treatment of anxiety, depression, addictions and other emotional problems.

There are many therapists using Skype nowadays. It's becoming more the norm than it used to be, and this is because people want easier access to the techniques and methods of psychotherapy to help them overcome long-standing emotional problems such as anxiety or depression. It is not necessary to regard anxiety or depression as being a medical condition. For most people it is simply a learned habit, they have learned how to become anxious or depressed, and these habits respond well to approaches that are designed to help you restructure the way you think and restructure the relationship you have to your emotions.

The style of psychotherapy that I offer online is called Mindfulness Therapy, which is particularly suitable for working with anxiety and depression. It helps you change that underlying process that creates anxiety or depression or that fuels an addiction.

Fundamentally, what Mindfulness Therapy teaches you is how to basically change your relationship to your mind - to your thoughts and your emotions so that you do not become overwhelmed by thoughts and emotions. We learn how to become conscious of thoughts and in that way we actually become free from our thoughts, because when you are conscious of them you are the OBSERVER that is conscious of the mind. When we become captivated by our thoughts, when we become prisoners of our emotions, that is when the problems start. We lose our identity as our True Self, the Observer that sees the content of mind.

It's only when you develop full conscious awareness of your mind that you can begin to change things. So, in Mindfulness Therapy we learn practical methods to actually develop a conscious relationship with your emotions. We learn to "sit" with your emotions without becoming overwhelmed by them, without becoming lost in your emotions. You learn to meditate on your emotions, you learn to meditate on your thoughts, without becoming identified with your emotions or thoughts.

When you can establish this mindfulness-based relationship with the content of your mind, then you can begin to change that content - you begin to develop choice. When we are identified with our emotions and thoughts we have no choice, we just live out conditioning. So, that's the problem of Conditioned Mind.

When we develop consciousness, we actually change our position entirely, to become the Observer, the True Self, and that is not conditioned. So, that is where the element of choice begins to develop, we begin to see how we can change our emotions, we see how we can change how we see our emotions and thoughts in the mind. We change our relationship to them and through this process we gain more and more freedom.

So, it is breaking emotional habits. That is the focus of Mindfulness Therapy and the Skype therapy sessions that I provide. Learning to break free from our emotional habits that imprison us and that dictate how we feel.
