Bimanual Exam
With the patient in the dorsal lithotomy position, perform a bimanual exam to determine uterine size and position. This information will be helpful in determining whether there are masses or uterine enlargement that might need further evaluation. The exam also helps to clarify the uterine axis, which is the imaginary axis along which the biopsy instrument will be inserted.
