Recommended Daily Intake

While most sources recommend 5 to 13 servings of fruits and veggies daily, one need not place limitations on eating vegetables. Eat as many as desired! But be sure to keep the goal of at least two and a half cups of vegetables per day, where one cup equals one cup of chopped vegetables or two cups of green leafy veggies. Great examples of vegetable servings can be found on the University of Michigan Integrative Medicine (UMIM) Healing Foods Pyramid, click here to view.

And let us not discount fruits: these are also clearly beneficial! Consume in two to four servings per day or approximately two cups daily, where one cup equals one cup of chopped fruit, eight strawberries, one large orange, or 17 seedless grapes.
