Patient Position and Skin Preparation
Place the patient in a position that allows the surgeon best access to the lesion. This should also be a position that is comfortable for the patient. The patient may be seated, or placed in a supine or prone position.
Determine if patient is allergic to iodine or betadine
If not, use betadine times three
If so, use hebicleanse
If performing a shave excision, an alcohol prep is adequate given the low risk of infection.
