Now that you have learned about light therapy, move on to the next section to read a summary of the material presented in this unit.

There are literally dozens of different light products available from dozens of different companies. The lights vary in terms of intensity, size, style, and portability. In general, higher intensity lights can be used for a shorter amount of time but have a higher risk of side effects. Occasionally, insurances will cover the price which usually runs between $150 and $250. Apollo Health is one company that seems to have particularly high quality and easy to use products although these products are not necessarily endorsed by anyone at the University of Michigan or its associated clinics. They will help patients with insurance reimbursement issues as well.

Three types of lights in particular have been shown in clinical trials to be effective. Click on the images for more information about each type.
