Physiatrists (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation)

Previous | Next

Physiatry is the medical specialty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R). Its training focuses on the non-surgical treatment of muscle, bone, nerve, and brain injuries with the goal of improved function and improved pain control. The level of manual medicine teaching varies from program to program. Continuing education courses for PM&R physicians are the same as those offered for osteopathic physicians.
