Attempt with Tenaculum

Previous | Next

While applying counter-traction with the tenaculum, attempt to pass the biopsy device. Often the stabilization provided by the tenaculum allows the biopsy device to pass without additional instrumentation. If you are successful, complete the biopsy. If you are not successful, then uterine sounding is necessary. Remember to keep the biopsy device as sterile as possible during its use.
