Sinding Larsen Johansson Syndrome

What is it? Similar to Osgood Schlatter, this is an osteochondrosis of the inferior pole of the patella where the patellar tendon attaches.

How does it present? Pain over the inferior pole of the patella with activity during a time of growth.

Common exam findings: Tenderness over the inferior pole of the patella.

Tests and treatment: No routine studies are needed. Treatment consists of a stretching program, modification of activity to tolerance and reassurance.
