Fruits and Vegetables

We have all heard the famous saying, "an apple a day keeps the doctor away." One dietetic recommendation which has certainly stood the test of time and research is that of fruits and vegetables. The health benefits to be gained from a diet rich in these vital foods are clear and abundant. Perhaps we should change the saying to "five to thirteen servings of veggies and fruits per day keeps the doctor away." Sure, it is not as catchy, but it helps emphasize the importance of fruits and vegetables.
