There are many excellent resources available to help you and your patients learn more about nutrition. We have collected many of those resources here for your use.

University of Michigan Integrative Medicine Healing Foods Pyramid. A new take on the food pyramid, this site provides comprehensive information related to a well-balanced diet, emphasizing healing foods, plant-based choices and mindful eating.

Harvard School of Public Health: The Nutrition Source. Another great resource devoted to healthy nutrition.

American Dietetic Association. This site from the professional society of dieticians and nutritionists has a public page with useful information, including links to disease-specific nutritional information.

The World's Healthiest Foods. A useful resource for choosing and cooking healthy foods. This site includes disease-specific information and good sources of specific nutrients, such as calcium and magnesium.

University of Wisconsin Department of Family Medicine. Check out the website for Integrative Medicine based handouts on a variety of topics, including hypertension, hyperlipidemia, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and elimination diets.

DASH Eating Plan. The Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension eating plan enforces many concepts of healthy nutrition and is a good general plan for anyone trying to eat better. View the official document on the DASH diet from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (PDF).
