Numerous studies have shown that asthma can be better controlled in patients who regularly exercise.

No study illustrates the superiority of one type of exercise over another. One form of exercise considered 'alternative' has demonstrated some benefits for asthma.

  • Yoga helps to decrease medication use and lowers anxiety (Vedanthan 1998).

  • Reduces airway hyper-responsiveness and improved some aspects of quality of life (Menocha 2002).
