Standing Flexion Test

Previous | Next

The Standing Flexion Test assesses for lumbosacral, sacroiliac, or pelvic dysfunction. The examiner stands behind the patient and places hands on the iliac crests with thumbs positioned on the inferior notch of the posterior superior iliac spine. The patient flexes forward slowly. If the PSIS moves more cephalad on one side, the test is positive on that side, indicating dysfunctional.
