Welcome to the Meeting Management unit that was co-developed by The Michigan Quality System and the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Michigan. This module is intended to provide you with tools and skills for meeting management and facilitation.

In order to get the most benefit out of this module, it is recommended that when attending any meeting after reviewing the module, that you pay attention to process in the context of the material presented in this module. Ultimately, the true practical test of this module is running a meeting using the skills and materials discussed within.

At the end of the module, the participant will:

  • Understand the components of a successful, well-organized meeting

  • Plan and create an agenda for productive meetings

  • Have understanding of what tools are needed to successfully conduct an effective meeting

  • Gain skill and comfort in facilitating meetings

  • Differentiate between consensus and majority decision making

  • Apply knowledge of developing consensus decision making

  • Manage group and individual interactions in meetings

  • Understand the benefits and potential limitations of planning and implementing process improvement by meetings
