Transvaginal Ultrasound

Uses a vaginal ultrasound probe to measure endometrial thickness.
Endometrial thickness greater than 5mm in a postmenopausal women who are not on hormone replacement therapy (HRT), has a good sensitivity and specificity for endometrial hyperplasia and carcinoma.
It has poor specificity in most other situations (menstruating woman or shortly after biopsy has been performed).
