Wipe off the iodophor solution with a moist gauze from the pubic and scrotal areas, avoiding the wound and penis. Remove restraints from infant and apply a diaper with white petrolatum ointment on it. Pressure diaper is optional if pressure is desired for hemostasis, consisting of a folded cloth inside the diaper, see Figures 1 and 2.

Note the time the circumcision was completed and notify the nurse so that the circumcised penis can be checked in 15 minutes. If not already done so, go over post-circumcision care with parents when you return the infant to them.
