Benefit:

  • Improves GERD and dyspepsia

Mechanism of Action:

  • Demulcent, offers mucoprotection of esophagus and stomach

Side Effects:

  • Patients should not take ginger supplements if they have:

    • Gallstones or gallbladder disease

    • Diabetes

    • Heart disease

    • A clotting disorder requiring aspirin, warfarin or heparin

Available Forms:

  • Actual root, powder, tablets, tincture

  • Recommended dose is up to 250mg, three to four times daily
