Medial and Lateral Collateral Ligament Stability

Previous | Next

Medial (ulnar) and Lateral Collateral Elbow Ligament Stability can be tested at zero and 30 degrees of flexion by applying a valgus force, for the medial collateral ligament, and a varus force, for the lateral collateral ligament, across the elbow. Laxity compared to the contralateral side indicates a partial or complete tear of the ligament.
