Mark Ellipse

Use a dermatologic marker to outline the area to be excised using a ratio of 3 diameters to 1 length (3:1). Following of this ratio will prevent the formation of a folded down area of the skin, sometimes known as "dog ears," at the wound's ends. Make sure to have adequate margins around the skin lesion.
